Oh,what can I say?The one and only uniquely gifted Elvis, probably the most beloved voice in music history, who could sing"all kinds"...The King is dead, long live the King.
Elvis is one of a kind, think about this, on Sirius satellite radio, there is an Elvis channel, the only singer on the whole earth that is broadcast from space to earth that has his own channel. He's not played on radio, or very much on tv but somehow, he has more tribute artists, fans, and a billion people trying to figure out this Elvis thing, lol, just accept it, he is different, he's the king, for a million reasons even us fans can't put our finger on. He was just Elvis.
I remember being 8 in the late 80's and showing all my friend's my favourite song, this one, and they all just kinda looked a bit confused, but I was so into it!
This song reminds me of Tamsweg, Austria, during 1975-1976. I think it was on an Elvis album. Thanks for the post! Erinnert mich an Tamsweg/Lungau, Oesterreich, 1975-1976. Vielen Dank!
Elvis. What a beautiful, tragic man. No one will ever come close. I will NEVER forget the day Elvis breathed his last. Now he is singing gospel music in heaven.
this track suddenly came in to my life very unexpectedly,11 09 1999,the day i lost my my world.iN TWO DAYS I MUST HAVE LISTENED TO THIS TRACK A HUNDRED TIMES,come the day i couldnt remember a single verse, but this track will be with me to my last day,in devoted memory of my mother,Wendy Phylis Tyrrell(Wendy Savin) of Marlow Bucks,i miss you like it was only yesterday,Kevin xxx
elvis makes me think of my dead grandfather. He died when i was 5, 9 years ago. His voice also sounded like Elvis', only a little worse, off course, but still...
Many wana be Elvis tries to sound like him and i give them credit for trying but nothing come close to the real thing, When you get goose bumps as you listen to him thats the effect you get from the real thing..ONE AND ONLY ELVIS RIP MY KING!!
i have heard many very good versions of this song but nobody does it better than this man. Nobody even comes close, no wonder they called him The King.
@hirdy6 very true! elvis aaron presley the greatest interpreter of songs that has ever lived. and in my opinion, the greatest singer and showman that will ever set foot on thjs planet.
OMG, fantastic, its remind me of my mom, she was a Elvis fan for life...when i had a date with my very first friend, she sang this song. I shall never forget it. Elvis, i love you!
Brings me back to my childhood when my mother and father would dance to the original version - but Elvis does it so beautifully! Was this after Priscilla left him?
all through my life songs remind me of moments in time i will never forget, most of them are elvis songs. this one i love because it reminds me of listening to it with my dad when he was alive and i was a young lad. it brings tear to my eyes when i hear it and the piece of music being played just as elvis sings "and a voice is softly saying this will be good bye forever more" the one and true king forever.
I love Elvis like no other. I was born very late in 1981 to parents who spent their prime and best years in the mid 1950s and i do have a different outlook, so to speak.
Most of my peers i was growing up with in high school loved to trash the 50s as being old people stuff.
Personally i loved how simple things were then and loved the music.
I just completely hovered over the late 60s and 70s.
I love 50s, early 60s stuff and i love 80s and 90s metal most when elvis is tributed
@catlvr25 Yes he did , and you can tell when it's some one else. i guess it would be good to sound like Elvis . Everyone except him ...well they just come up short.. why! He was the best . The One and only. supercarol
It is available on Elvis Country, Elvis: The Other Sides-Worldwide Gold Award Hits, Walk a Mile In My Shoes-The Essential 70s Masters, and 50 Greatest Love Songs, which is where this version is from.
Written by Dallas Frazier. Elvis recorded it June 8, 1970 at RCAs Nashville Studios. The single release had a 9-week stay on the Hot 100 Chart, peaking at #21. It reached #9 on the Country Chart, and it peaked at #2 on the Easy-Listening Chart. It was the B-side to I Really Dont Want To Know. It was also released as the B-side to Youll Never Walk Alone in 1982.
There Goes My Everything was the A-side of the 1982 single and not the B-side. The song had been the B-side of the 1970 single, although as with many Elvis singles, both sides of the record were being played and both sides accounted for sales. It would've been more fair to have referred to the 1970 single as a double-A side but Billboard by then was only recognizing one side for its chart but noting the flip side being played with an F. By then, Elvis was the only artist charting both sides.
This is such a very magnificent song and Elvis definitely has the very best renditions of it. Elvis had the unique ability to make very nearly every song that he recorded his very own song. Elvis had a voice like no other. Elvis will always be the greatest singer, entertainer and phenomenon. Elvis will also always have the greatest voice and the greatest fans. This video was absolutely magical in every way, 10 Stars as always Jackie. Elvis forever.
