This was the music video that I found out who was Rebecca St James. I remember watching a Life Force TV program where they were playing christian rock music back in the late 90's
@NiamhIronside Many Christian artists still write songs that have no real "religious" message. They just carry an overall positive message, which I think people of all religions and beliefs can relate to. I think this is one of those songs.
for he neg viewers please pray the word daily that your hearts and souls may be healed ,then to go out and uplift all whom CHRIST DIED for. rebecca and family "great is your reward for your work it is all in good taste and you'll always be in my prayers 'for "life" psalm 45:1 signed
I knew it was a cover but had never heard the original, so just now I looked up John Farhnam's version of the song & video. I like both versions. But I agree about the video, this one is horrible and the original is much better.
I kinda like it. I have a feeling the director just told RSJ to have fun and just be herself. It's trippy, artsy, and someone had way too much fun with the editing buttons!
Actually, considering the state of Christian music videos of the same time, it's pretty good. Let's face it, the Christian music industry there for a while produced horrible videos.
Very true, I was raised on listening only to Christian music. There was a video channel in the mid-90s, "Z-Music" where there was only approx. 100 videos on the playlist. Once I figure out how to convert my old tape recordings, I will post some obscure Christian Rock videos!!!
I used to watch videos just for unintentional humor!!! Which I still do here on youtube.
This song helps me a lot through my own fears Thank God for Rebecca
God has not given us a spirit of fear but of power and love of a sound mind
This is what sister Rebecca is saying in this video
Thank you sister Rebecca may the lord continue to use you
You have done a great work in you Music and Acting

Good on Rebecca for bringing a classic Aussie song to the world - but the "Whooooaaaa" bit is conspicuous by its absence.

Despite being an atheist, I still love this song.

Wow...I'm sorry but this sucks. The original Farnham or Heart versions are the only versions of this song anyone should listen too.

I Love Rebecca's version better, but gotta admit the chorus of the John Farnham version is awesome too.

Interesting take on this song... Amazing how many versions are around considering how relatively unkown the song is outside of Australia.

I think its a cool song but i dont get the "Album: God Lied" part :s
gustifreak100 2 years ago
The album isn't called God Lied...it's called God.
I don't know why the person put that in the discription
gater104 2 years ago
OH 83 thanks for explaining that ^^
gustifreak100 2 years ago
you're welcome :)
gater104 2 years ago
If you click on "more info" in the description, you'll see "God" and "Lied" are on two different lines; "Lied" is a term sometimes used for "song"
futrRockstar 2 years ago
Lied is the German word for song. The person also wrote the word mehr which is more in German.
MissIcia 2 years ago
there is no other meaning foe 'Lied' than song~ XD

No. The word Lied is song in German. The person who uploaded this speaks German.

The video is kind of weird lol....but the song is really good. The video it self actually reminds me of something Steve Taylor would do.

ITs not the performance. It's the words that needs to be kept in mind....

I did not know until today that it was a HEART cover. Man, I wish i hadn't grown up so Christian-Bubbled.
drewplaysdrums 2 years ago
It's not an original heart song.
It was originally sung by John Farhnam in 1986. Look it up, no one sings it better than he does.
