    torque is nice, but if you get into tunin on your honda you can be fast too...9s runs on all motor sohc f22? look up bisimoto

  • @TheWeinerdrizzler lol, dont be so quick to jump to conclusions...look up build autos..although i am pro MT, built ATs have potential...sedan is suck but whatever, my 93 accord sedan runs better than my 2 dr 90 accord 2 dr, because of f22a6 vs f22a1 (both have header, but the a1 doesnt have the a6 runners/IAB..and i have a bigger TB on my a6...) if you want fast boost a f22 in a crx, or build an jdm h22 for the rex..you could go K, but H or F is best if you account with the initial cost plus mod

  • @Recklesskidxx not quite.... supercobra = DOHC 5.4L V8, not a SOHC 3v... Born a cobra and will die a cobra.... there are way more differences between this and the supercobra, but it is a fast little motherfucker and will keep up. I love this car, its friggin awesome, but in order to be a supercobra, it has to be born a supercobra (in which case, its not, it was born a gt, not a cobra) then have the DOHC, the block itself is the same, everything else in that motor.... its not the same beast.

  • @TurkeySammiches The reason was that the Shelby has a 5.4L 3Valve V8, which is exactly what is that F150 motor he pulled has. :)

  • @sylentmyst the Shelby GT500 doesnt have a 3v motor, its a 4v

  • The engine was pulled from an F150, however it is not stock. The bottom end was built, along with ported heads, turbo cams, and a sheetmetal intake.

    The shortblock has forged internals. Built is just an easy way to say it.

  • @543VTT how much power does it make? seems kindof a waste of time. the Aluminum 4.6 3v in the Mustang can make over 700whp on stock internals.

    It wasn't a power goal, it was to be different. Besides the 4.6 can't match the torque of the 5.4. Oh and it easily makes north of 800HP.

  • @543VTT you pretty much lose the torque by adding more weight to the car using an cast iron block over the original aluminum.... why not convert that to an all aluminum 4v 4.6l and boost.....everyone man to his own i guess

  • @oilfield666 yeah but all the added torque easily makes up for the added weight.

  • @oilfield666 because you would need to use the 4v's computer and harness... then try to rig it to the s197 harness... a PITA.

    With the 5.4 3v, he can retain the s197 3v harness and still make all the power he wants. There is a 5.4 3v out there with just a small 88 turbo making over 1000+ HP using the stock s197 4.63v computer...

  • @fhlh ford racing sells a 4v 5.4l harness based on s197 but set up as stand alone. unless you dont know how to crimp, solder wires, there was nothing holding it back. 5.4l 4v and 4.6l 4v are close enough to use the same harnesses...other words a modfied version of the shelby mustang harness would have gotten the job done

  • I can only guess right this second but I'd say 750ish (crank hp) at 15 psi and pump gas. I'm hoping to make that at the wheels on pump gas once she's done.Looking for 1000 crank hp on race gas. We just moved so I haven't been able to work on her the last two months.

  • I think I'm pretty much in line with combos similar to mine. I've had alot of people tell me I'm conservative on my race gas figure. No matter it's supposed to be on a dyno real soon. ;)

  • Why twin turbo and only 5psi?

  • This was during the break in period. It's at 15 psi right now on pump gas. I'm also maxed on my fuel pump duty cycle. Once I get that fixed I hope to run close to 20 psi on pump gas (8.2 to 1 compression).

  • Great project but when you say it was completed with "vision and determination" it's kind of funny when this sort of thing only requires "funding and time". You have built the dream S197, I have to say without recourse.
