The whole tune is that of the Wild Colonial Boy. They just changed the lyrics, which I think Spider wrote. I remember reading that Shane doesn't care about football at all, so no wonder he sounds/looks unenthusiastic.

Thanks posting this..I LOVE BOTH THESE BANDS..Just saw the Pogues and damn, these guys still have it..The Dubliners did for a long time too..While the video is a bit goofy, the tune is just kick ass..Only thing, isn't this "Wild Colonial Boy" melody? I don't recognize the words in this tune but it sure sounds great..
