That's not Richard playing Keyboards, its Jan playing a remote MIDI keyboard, and I don't think his modules are listed. It sounds a bit like a Korg wave-station to me :-)

@Nellydyson I believe Dave Sinclair originally used a Hammond for the "Caravan sound", but I'm not sure how he got it to sound like that. I'm not sure what he's using here.
any one know what happened to mike from the dolphin & his sister Sally who was dave sinclair's girlfriend-met them grape picking in France in 1979 - if you do please reply
saw video of this song on a prog music compilatiion dvd I picked up for $2 in a throw out bin. I can't stop playing it now, and can't get enough of their music. 11 out of 10. best $2 I ever spent.
I saw them locally 3 or 4 times in the last few years, both with former keyboard player the excellent David Sinclair and Jan Schelhas, For Richard is such an amazing track.Sadly Doug Boyle has left the band now and Richard Couglan has not been too well so future plans concerts may be in jeopardy. One of my all time favourite bands. This music is timeless.
I was a young student at the univesrity in Naples,Italy when a local FM radio started to air the entire album "in the land of grey and pink" almost every day. It really drove me crazy. It took me some time, before I could catch the words on the song "in the land of grey and pink" and rush to the closest record store to ask for the LP.
Google Caravan 35th Anniversary concert and you'll get all the info there ... and be able to buy the dvd :) Jim Leverton Bass, Doug Boyle Guitar, Yan Schelhaas ... regards Nytram91
Hi there ... how about buying the DVD ... it won't break the bank and I feel we ought to support them :) Good news about the proposed tour ... let's hope it is viable for them :)
you should put up the video for "Nightmare" i'd have to say that was Pyes best vocal performance the entire night. i hope i can see them live one day.
Blakexzappa, Hi. Jimmy Hastings is amazing! I live in the UK. I've seen him play a few times. He's a great flautist. I've seen the Jimmy Hastings Quartet play. Excellent. He's also a great saxophonist. On flute, he doesn't 'overdo' it or do excessive improvisation. Beautiful music!!
I was going to see Caravan live in Boston with Nektar but they dropped the gig and didnt end up playing. I was bummed out for sure. I was looking forward to meeting Jan Schelhaas
and asking him so sign the Camel albums I had HAHA
great. i thought it was him, i want to see the flute solo of "love song with flute" but i wasnt going to buy the dvd unless it was jimmy playing it. haha.
Once more, Jimmy Hastings is pure marvel !

Beautiful. I have just about everything ever recorded by Caravan and I saw them live in the late 70s.

This absolutely brilliant. Have loved this band since '72. What keyboard is Richard playing to get that unique Caravan sound?

I've got the dvd already, and a lot of their albums. it was just good to see them getting shared on here at last.
They don't get airplay on radio...this is a way for people who dont know, to experience how good they are...then maybe it would be more viable.

Jimmy Hastings can play one note with more feeling and expression than most people achieve in an entire album.
