I don't get all the hate for Brawl haha. I started on the original, went to Melee, and am now on Brawl and I still love all three. It seems that people try to think of Smash Bros as a super competitive fighting game like the other franchises, where I think of it as smashing other Nintendo characters for fun. :) Just don't take it so serious, and have fun!!

@NathanRW Yea,I agree.People forget the intention of the game,and its to put a smile on your face win or lose.The game's other intention is to grab your attention as well to things that can make you mad,laugh or in some cases scared.They didn't build this game from the ground up with a tournament hardcore mind set,which is why other games like MvC 3 are following that same route.

Well, what's fun for some people is playing at a high skill level.

What melee players such as myself look for is an interesting, complex game. One that's as simple as brawl has very little depth by comparison, and doesn't make for interesting matches when spamming/planking (repeatedly grabbing ledges) and slow paced camping are pretty much what you have to do if you want to win against anyone decent.

I'm not saying that brawl is objectively worse, just that it's not as deep.

It's like if someone invented chess, then made a sequel- checkers. One isn't objectively worse than the other, but it's just not as interesting or complex, and not worth spending as much time on if you're looking for a good game.
