i think his rants were just reactions after years of tourment, his teenage years were not kind to him, and he kept to himself alot.. he must've saw these shows as oppurtunities to express his views for once. and sure gn'r can only be gn'r with the original mebers and that soulful blues style music that they used to play, but the new gn'r is amazing. their music is incredible, beautiful. just listen to it as if it werent gn'r and you'll learn to love it more.

Agree that old gnr wasn't about shred but...thats old GnR its nearly 20 years ago. it would have been great for many of the "die hard" GnR fans if he had made an album just like Appetite or use your illusion..but for anyone not stuck in the past they would think it was a waste..as that style of music today..doesn't work unless you're willing to do the poison or steel panther routes. Chinese democracy is actually a good record. and i love the older albums more but i think it holds its own.
