ThierryParisCine, this quote made me think of you...
Until men share equal responsibility for struggling to end sexism, the feminist movement will reflect the very sexist contradictions we wish to eradicate. In particular, men have a tremendous contribution to make in the area of exposing, confronting, opposing, and transforming the sexism of their male peers."
-Hooks, B. (2004). Men: Comrades in struggle.
In other words, " the one with the guys" is anything but sexist :)
I got exercise just watching it because it made my foot tap. The editing is fantastic. The idea is smart. The ladies are good actressess. This is EXACTLY what a Public Service Announcement is supposed to be. It draws your attention. It's not like a boring little playlet like that guy one. I vote for this one to be the best, and one of the best ever at my alma mater.
First: regarding the JulieGrant comment - she actually writes that it would be nice if the vid reflected other settings? Hunh? What? How silly. What were they supposed to do, drive up to Manhattan? They go to school at UM. As for the vid, I watched all four and this one's the best. It makes the most sense. It tells a story. It makes its point. Good for that team as they took exercise and made it important and fun.
Well done. I liked it a lot, but I work at a college in an urban environment. The actors are not racially diverse enough and the campus is dramatically different from the students that I work with in NYC. Nice idea that could definitely be redone to reflect other settings.
Silly comment. It wasn't about diversity, it was about EXERCISE. Take your preaching back to the political arena where it belongs. You're commenting on a promotional video for helping one's body, not a sociological treatise. Obviously, the women in the vid are friends and that's the structure of their group. How the heck do you know their ethnicity? Do you have X-ray vision? No wonder people hate New York City. Get a grip. Boo.
JulieGrant must be like really ancient. She still thinks in terms of color. Wow. What a feeb. These are the girls who made it. Deal with it. This video is totally cool. Everybody's good. The great song is peppy and the acting is totally good. Makes me want to exercise.
This is definitely the best of the vids in competition. All of the women are wonderful in this - they each have unique personalities and it shows through. The music is boppy and the editing is the best. The message really comes across.
What the hell? How did i get here from watching videos about swag!?

re: JulieGrant -WORST COMMENT EVER. It's a PSA, not Nelson Mandela. What a crock of hooey. Somebody needs to exercise their brain.
