  • I know this video is old, but for ease you can embed an XNA game control in a winform. This would be much better for an editor, you can have more tools.

  • Dear uoftcosmik, do you have any tutorials of how to create and display gametime? It would be really helpful if you do, thank you!

  • A nice software to help you create tiles, is a free program called Tile Studio. You have photoshop, which may suit your needs, but for anyone that doesn't have that, Tile Studio is really nice. It includes a built in level editor. I prefer to make my own level editors, but this allows you to create tiles, make a test level with the editor and see what they look like. If you change a tile, it changes it in the editor automatically (all versions of that tile). Nice work anyhow.

  • This looks like it was headed somewhere awesome. Have you finished it yet?

  • Damn missed this vid, your level editor is looking sweet!

I'm hoping to make one for my engine as a side tool, maybe incorporating layers to read/write the maps :)

  • Nice work. :) 5/5

  • Please Make A Tut On How To Even Start a Game!!! This Is Amazing!

  • Hey, how to you edit a level through a txt file? Btw great job

  • I think that he reads his txt file into an array. Where 1 is an palm tree or something else ;)

  • can you please make a tutorial on how to make a text base level editor.

oh and by the way NICE

  • oh and your project is awesome man

  • i have been doing research on many different languages such as java, C++ and C# but what i want to is game development and iv decided to go the XNA route because i can get any engine or API to run in visual studio but i was wondering how much C# should i learn before i start to tackle the XNA framework

  • Nice stuff, but i need to know, how do you make the screen "center" on the player?

  • Are you still working on this or have you started another project?

  • i wish i knew how to create a level editor

  • Nice Work Man :) I loved the 3 parts of the video :)

  • Pretty sweet.

    I like C# + XNA

Your level editor is nice .

    ~Keep up the good work.

  • A level editor is pretty good. Is XNA C# really easier than DarkGDK C++

  • Well, that is more preference wise... I would say though, that xna and c# is more controllable than Dark Gdk.

  • yeh... darkGDK might be 'easier'... but not in the best way... XNA and C# is easy ... in the best way:P i dunno if that made any sense... if u want it to make sense just learn c# :P lol

  • do you know any good c# tutorials on the internet? Oh well when you come back to C++, we can coordinate.

  • Very nice work :) Keep at it, looking forward to seeing can you create.

  • thanks for the comment man :)
