I actually unlike Misty11231 think you could pull of Ty lee much BETTER then many of the actors who were chosen for the movie to play their counterparts. I am an Actor IRL and I can tell you from personal experiance that if you don't look EXACTLY right, but you have the Skill set to properly pull off the character. They will pick you over an actor who looks perfect but doesn't know the skill sets of the character you're in compatition for the role of. You clearly have the gymnastic skill.

with that in mind I would strongly recomend that you start honing in on learning the various other skills of Ty Lee if you don't allready know them. For example tight rope walking, I also suspect Ty Lee might know Fire Poi dancing (Though there is no dirrect refferance to her doing so) YOu will also want to learn Pressure Point martial arts of some nature. About the movie I will say this: Yes the movie was horrid. I really didn't like it either. Thankfully there is no go ahead so far on another movie. However this girl could do it if she really tried. If this is what she wants,she should go for it!

If you need some acting I would recommend taking an Improv class first. You could probably develop the skills needed to deliver Ty Lee's lines there plus it teaches you to think on your feet when acting and that's a definite skill Ty Lee's character has

As for what people say about looking like Ty Lee, I think that very few if any of the cast in the movie matched their cartoon counterparts.
