  • cs5 is much fasteer

  • LOL Adobe guys are really running out of ideas how to attract new customers :D

  • @Lillymill Do you think this is a bad idea? Do you know how much simpler it is to actually have your 3D model in front of you to paint as you please? It's very hard in certain 3d programs to put textures and designs on your model, so this is a huge help.

  • @Are694

That's why there are specialized tools for this sort of work - Zbrush, Deep Paint 3D.

I really think it's a bad idea to push Photoshop in this direction.

If they wanted new features, I'm sure there are plenty of things they could've added or improved.

  • where can i get a 3d car like that

  • @jubjubcat im just assuming he made most of it himself :)

  • @jubjubcat you go here photoshop. com/products/photoshop/3d/

  • I'm having problems exporting my 3d objects. Whenever I export my 3d layer in .obj format, I get a zero byte file (plus textures) that won't load in any 3d program. Anyone know why?

  • how do you do that

  • How can I make a texture such as your decal to paste onto my 3d image.

  • Nice!

  • Where Can I download 3D objects car like that?

  • Figure of speech :O

  • I think 3D models in 3D layers in Photoshop still sucks performance wise. They should have perfected it a lot more before releasing CS4!

  • Not true. I'm using CS4, running on a Onboard graphics, and it loads fine. Just as well as it does anywhere else. I think you need to test something before you can knock it.

  • Actually, they work quite well if your models aren't too big or have too many pieces or textures. It really depends on how the model was constructed before importing into PSCS4. I've had some really bad experiences as well as some very successful ones to date, but as others have said, don't expect this to work at all like BodyPaint! ;)

  • Thanks - That was my experience as well. 3ds Max model worked okay but some textures were out of place and polygons were distorted. obj models work okay (no textures import) but sometimes things like wheels will become part of the whole model in Photoshop CS4.

  • you sir IZ RICH or crazy

  • 5,000 grand is a lot. Sure you don't mean 5 grand ?.

  • This is all really cool but hardly revoltionary in any way. Bodypaint can do all this and alot more.

I am disapointed that they havn't come up with a better way of handeling seems in the UV maps. If you make a brush stroke across one it looks really bad.

  • that is hard to do in any other software that i'm aware of.. that's why its so hard to learn 3d and uv mapping..

  • let me guess - you are using Mac

  • who? me? no.. windows vista.. what has that got to do with anything?

  • what's wrong with a mac?

  • That's just your opinoin

  • opinion*

  • here is whats wrong with your statement; macs have crap hardware, really, they use the same intel CPU that windows machines use, and they also use the same graphics cards that windows computers use. the new macbook pro, made of aluminum, not plastic has two GPU's built in; "I'm a PC. I'm a PC. I'm a stereotype, but i'm also a PC" thats a stupid commercial. Apple stole stuff from microsoft??? yeah ok! you can play games by booting into windows. yes windows on a mac, gotta love bootcamp.

  • "macs have crap hardware, really, they use the same intel CPU that windows machines use".

I said, "have crap hardware for that price range"

"'I'm a PC. I'm a PC..' thats a stupid commercial." I don't like that one either... And Apple started that fad.

"you can play games by booting into windows. yes windows on a mac, gotta love bootcamp".

Ah, yes... All decent OS's require running another OS along with it for full functionality.

And with that Matte white shit they look like cheap plastic.

  • :] i like both

  • I think I will stick with bodypaint.

  • Yesss! What I have waited for a long time!

  • Question:

Can you import a 3D model, texture it how you like, and then export only the texture that you created back into a 3d format?

  • i think u can.

  • Doesn't work like BodyPaint. Sure you can create a texture map or bump map with Photoshop Layers and export them as flat maps/files, but it's a bit difficult to get the correct positioning on complicated models in PSCS4.

  • wow i want this cs4
