  • the Boa looks nervous

  • He's nervous.

  • How old is it

  • Nice snake , But is it really a good idea to put a constrictor round your neck ?

You may be able to handle it but telling people by example that its ok is really irresponsible.

I have trained my baby not to go round my neck she goes over my shoulder and grabs a leg !!

Please be carefull when you post stuff as an expert !

  • @chinobub

there's nothing wrong with putting a constrictor around your neck as long as you know what you're doing and aren't nervous.

  • The snake will not look at him as a food source they only constructs when they plan to eat their prey. A defense reaction would be bite and release even a 18' will not look at you wa food

  • beautiful snake!!!

  • But... Yeah boas make great pets * boa chokes him to death

  • O_o where does Expert village find these people?

  • are you supposed to hold it on your neck? cant it try to eat you or soem shit???

  • Expert Village "We are experts at being wrong"

  • lol expert village are idiots lol he cant even pronounse docile lol he says dorsal

  • this had nothing about care for boas...

  • not a care video

  • how many times should i feed my 3 foot red tail boa?I feed him mice,..everyone is telling me different things.

  • @cohenlolo4 Mice is good for now. But as he gets bigger start feeding him rats and then you should start feeding him chickens.

  • @vampirechase42 Thanks how many mice should i feed him a week?

  • @cohenlolo4 If he is 3 feet that means his growth is good. Just keep doing what your doing and I think he'll be happy until he gets bigger and he will.

  • @vampirechase42 i feed him two a week..cool thankyou:)

  • we will bees talking

    we will be stalking

    we will be talking

someone should have been directing and said cut.

  • actually dumm ass u over fed the pore girl n shes over wieght n prob die way sooner, plus my male boa is over 7ft a 6 yrs old n female is over6 ft n they arent fat u should care for animals if u only not 10 minutes worth of research... :@

  • you guys suck at titling your videos, if your going to call the video how to care for boas then tell us how to care about them, not an overview. dumbass

  • dude that snake is sick I live in sa i got bring my boa to hang out with its cuz here lol

  • I would just rofl if it killed him in this video for being such a dumb ass.

  • cool but uu thats a big snake

  • that snake is freakin beautiful i love snakes i hate how they have such a bad reputation why does everyone think that they are gross and creepy because they're not gross they are nice, fun, awsome, and great pets PS i also feel the same about other reptiles and amphibians

  • He's sh*ting bricks right now.

  • Never trust expertvillage.

  • GORGEOUS snake!

  • lol hes strokin his snake...

  • You stupid bastard. This was titled "How to Care for a Boa" how about sticking to the topic at hand and not spouting off unrelated facts with "UHHHH" in between every sentence. Complete waste of everyone's time.

  • this guy knows nothing lol

  • That guy looks like a fuckin mattress dealer Wat the HEL

  • dat boa gunna start chokin him

  • I was waiting for a snap and choke

  • Choke him! Do it! c'mon!

  • his arm is fucked

  • Typical expertvilla moron. Females get 9 feet males get 7 give or take. They should shed one time every 3 to 5 weeks, or 6 to 8 meals. They eat anything that is in their size range, mostly rodents.

  • O not to large just 10 feet !!!

  • @Alyssap66 Some only get 6 feet

  • You just make NOOOO sence! When are you going to tell us how to care for a Boa Constrictor? U are just a big joke, that are in the buisines to make a buck! Skiiineheads!

  • (to my previous post not accurate measurements but more of examples to draw a picture in peoples heads. so dont reply to me saying i didnt get the length and diameter wrong. it was an example) also a snake thats 7- 9 foot snake might sound big but it might not be as you expected. my 7 foot retic which is going to 8 almost is in good conidtion eats proper meals and doesnt seem big although i have big hands she actually fits into my hands when she is coiled up. ill pos a video for deminstration.

  • not just boas but most reptiles never stop growing. they do have a natural size (example: let say a snake gets 6 feet for females and the males get 4 1/2 feet of that perticular snake. well it will reach 4 1/2 feet to 6 feet depending on feeding, sex, and all the little things that got to detail like breeding and stuff like that. the snake will continue to grow past what you think their adult size is but will only grow lets say 2 inches in length and more in diamiter for every year that pass)

  • how long is she/he? how old? please in meters :D no feet (euope) :D :D :D

  • this kids a fuckin arse...cheers m8...now i know everything about boas, i consider myself as proffesional as u.....so basically i know where they are from and that they shed at birth....fuck me i cudda told u that readin from a childs book...u may aswell got a corn snake and pretend it was a boa...jackass...proffesionally retarded!!!

  • thats a sick ass snake cant wait till my boas get that hige : )

  • Can humans transfer sicknesses to snakes? I've been sick the past couple of days and I want to give my boa more water but I don't know if I'll get him sick...usually being sick doesn't inconvenience me like this

  • @KiLLaKRaBz No,no podemos transmitir nuestras enfermedades por la simpleza de que nosotros somos de sangre caliente y ellas de sangre fría, puedes estar tranquilo.

  • @KiLLaKRaBz No you can't. Only way humans contribute in the passing of illness is handling multiple snakes without proper hygiene procedures.

  • @calgy84 Thanks!

  • How often should i feed my baby Red Tail?

  • @Ronron419 once a week is good for a baby, feed it small prey, true red tails tend to regurge their food if fed too large when theyre young

  • wiw it eatmy weenie dog?

  • man I would love a pet snake like this. it's gorgeous. but the whole time I felt like it wanted to choke that guy, lol.

what do you feed something this big?

  • @snackies3 rabbits

  • What's the difference between a boa constrictor and a red tailed boa? can anybody help me??

  • @AyoLuiskies A Red Tail Boa is a Boa Constrictor, but its what is called a BCI = Boa Constrictor Imperator....a "True" Boa is a BCC, wich is Boa Constrictor Constrictor .... wich pretty much look the same but they get bigger and heavier. There are many types of Boa Constrictors, my advidce would be to visit Redtailboas "dot" net , its a great forum full of info.

  • @AyoLuiskies There are no difference bro.. Its the same family, and specie. For the striking colors of the tail the peole called this red tailed, in South america es called : lampalagua, Macaurel, tragavenado ;)

  • watch my rosy go to our page

  • just piked up my 09 male he is ace had a strike at me/face wen picked him up but think that was with the heat from my breath but still young and wasant handled regularly so all let him off reckon a week or 2 handling he be sound he got very nice pink and strip lovely boa

  • the only reason people are scared of snakes are because of how fast they move and their heads

  • are male commons ok 4 a semi beginer a 09 male commons and whatthy like 2 handle temp

  • @tigger00025 yes they can,but make sure you can handle a snake where males get 6-7 ft and female get 9 ft,sure small compared to reticulated pythons.but much bigger than your average beginner snake and females are capable of killing you.i got my first boa when i was 14,they are very tame usually but there are exceptions.

  • What a beautiful common boa, makes you wonder why anyone bothers paying big bucks for morphs.

  • boa constrictors are my favorite snakes of all time!

  • this is the only expertvillage video that dosnt suck, one tip though, DONT TOUCH THE HEAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • If this guy was an expert he would not have a snake that big around his neck. Docile yes...but when mine gets a bit off balance he squeezes like crazy. Rather it be on my arm as opposed to closing off my airway and collapsing in a heap of sadness and death on the floor.

  • Exotic? Not really, these filthy humans tho look at it that way.

  • @randomenvelope and your what an alien?

  • @kelly2000398 Yes, I come from this distant planet in space called earth, I come in peace.

  • @randomenvelope hmm i come from a similar planet called E arth

but its usually not too peaceful

  • @kelly2000398 I heard about that place, fucking ghetto man, all of you have owners, people like controlling you, you guys are fucked up, you should all kill yourself, I even understand the murderers, why they want to kill bunch of people.

  • @randomenvelope and you think your special because?

  • @kelly2000398 Because I was a sweet heart and read your comment you poor lil boy :D

  • Big, beautiful, sweet, curious, and great feeders! You cannot beat boas as pets! (But if you want a pet boa, buy a book, don't listen to Expert Village's crap.)

  • @totalwombatfan A book? Just fucking buy the damn snake and feed them rats and rabbits! And give them water....easy is that.

  • Nice rtb

  • still too big

  • @drewchew44 naw

  • Yet another video that claims to contain care information and contains absolutely fucking ZERO, great job expert village!

  • @primaledge videojug . com is really good 4 facts AND actual caring of the animals shown on expert village...u should try it

  • @kaybrin1 Thanks I'll check it out, although I have a Boa which is doing very well, and has been for several years - no thanks to expert village LOL

  • Bullshit! lol, i can see he's afraid of it xD

  • not too large....a 10ft red tail boa is a large fucking snake you crack head

  • @Fourteen88SoCal Lol ye some bad info out there think he means the smaller imperator ones xD

  • @Fourteen88SoCal compare that to a burmese python

  • @allieisextinct lol well no kidding, I'm just saying

  • @Fourteen88SoCal no its not some can get 25-30feet

  • @Fourteen88SoCal but some snakes can grow 25 ft long

  • @MrGavin116 yea I know, but a 10 foot snake is STILL a big ass snake lol

  • @Fourteen88SoCal The biggest snake's are Retic pythons.. they grow 30+ feet. So compared to retics, boas are not too large

  • @near1717 i know....but I was talking about the fact he considered that red tail boa "not too large"....that's a large snake in my book lol

  • @Fourteen88SoCal 10 ft long is not that big really, u think about a snake that grows 10 ft long omg that thing has to eat humans or something like that... well, there has been no recorded case of a boa eating a human, once again i would like to refer to the thought of a 10 ft snake... once u actually hold the snake in your hands or around your body in this case, 10 ft long isent that big, so next time plz go handle 1 before u wight bad comments about them, if u love boas "thumbs me up!" pce out!

  • Comment removed

  • @Fourteen88SoCal

well i see you you say 10ft snake is very large but comparing to a Burmese python that can get close to double that

this is a medium size snake going from 6-9ft.. males being the smallest at 6-8ish

  • Comment removed

  • @Fourteen88SoCal

yes remove that fucked up comment buddy.

cause you know your not smart at all 10ft isnt huge like your saying it is..

i know my animals an you obviously dont so go back to getting your 20$ allowance

  • @Fourteen88SoCal But in the reptile community a 10 ft snake is medium sized... now a Reticulated Python, Anaconda and Burmese Python are considered large snakes :)

  • BURN IT WITH FIRE!!!!!!

  • ummm....... why is this vid called "How to care for exotic pets......" it said nothing about how to care for boas at all; didnt give any info in that aspect. so since its called how to care for them, i have a few questions: what size enclosure they need, how often should i clean their enclosure, how often should i change their water bowl, what temp should their enclosure be, what humidity? those are all the things, including more, you should have mentioned. FAIL!!!!!

  • @MrIceBrick there enclosure should be long enough for them to be able to just about stretch their entire body out. A baby all the way up through a year can live very conforatbly in a 10 gallon tank. At about a year, assuming they grow normally you can upgrade to a 20gal and increase accordingly as it grows. i clean the enclosure everytime they make a mess of it and give it a complete wash down every month or 2. As long as their water is clean and cool u can pretty much gage that by yourself

  • @MrIceBrick as for temp. The hot side, heating with with either a heat light or undetank heat pad should be 85-90 degrees and the cool side 75-80 degrees. If you have a smaller snake there is really no need for a heat light just stick with the undertank heat pad. Humidity should be about 50-60% but im not 100% certain i know its aorund there though.

  • @MrIceBrick I agree he just talked about where their from.

  • @MrIceBrick lls more like an EPIC FAIL!!!!!!!!

  • its looks like he's going to shit his pants lol

  • Don't get larger?!? Are u joking. And disposition depends on the snake

  • tiny . cc/boaguide

It's a GREAT guide. Better than this "expert". Me and all my friends use this simple eGuide to care for our snakes.

  • HAHA, someone needs to change their underwear, that guy was soo terrified of that snake!

  • @DSDreptiles He was probably scared of the camera more than the snake.

  • This guy is a fucking retard he didn't mention temps or housing requirements for a female that big, if you want to lear about snakes or any reptile join an online forum or simply google ''Boa care'' theres plenty of excellent sources online, for example Melissa Kaplan has great caresheets.

  • fail

  • was there a sortof crackle sound from the snake at 0:57? did that hurt it?

  • HAHAHA!

My boyfriend worked for this guy. lol

  • he is a DURFH

  • he looks scaried of that boa

  • u see how he wouldnt let it go around his neck

  • about keeping them in the enclosure at feeding time. well my warnings are for the big boys when even chancing a bite just isnt worth the wickedly painful bite. wanna take ur 3-6 ft boa out and chance it.. well thats on u and youve been warned )

  • and if the meal large id wait at least 7-10 days. G: NEVER EVER take them out of the enclosure when food is even in the house! i cant stress this enough ppl. even if you dont touch the food and wash your hands, he can detect the smallest trace and mistaken ident is very possible. If your snake is in the 10ft or more range then your liable to be killed in the process.

  • someone with considerably severe downs syndrome could easily takie care of a boa, a. an enclosure that isnt obvious too small...B: a water wish large enough for him to coil in and relax. C: safe bedding that will not splinter and harm them by getting inbetween scales. D: Aheat rock/pad or lamp "if your house is cooler than about 75F and no warmer than 90. E. kill his food prior to feeding to avoid possible fatal injury or terrible perm scarring. F.dont handle after feeding for at least 3days

  • i really love it when people say these snakes have an aggressive natutre. the host on one of them garbage exaggerating shock animal attack shows that give so many pets undeserved reputations

  • how does this tell you how to care for a boa constrictor vote up if u agree

  • specificlly, how much "FUN" will I be having

  • how the hell is this guy owner/operator of anything, listen to the queer's voice, you can tell he's 1)full of shit, and 2)abuses his snakes by trying to stuff his brown-eye with them

  • Thanks for posting !

  • i have 4 boas a regular, an albino, a sunglow , and a super pastel i love them

  • Ye the colours are amazing and they eat sooo damn good

  • Soo weird sum people hate snakes and would never keep them as a pet but I fucking love snakes I can't live without them :)

  • @thebetterhaloplayer Ditto. :)

Funny, I remember watching this video a couple years ago and thinking about how much I REALLY wanted a boa... I never thought it would happen... but here I am with the most beautiful girl in the whole world!! Boas are the most AMAZING snakes out there!! So beautiful and relaxed and great feeders.

  • i have a question, why doesnt my boa eat rats? i was told to try to get her on rats as soon as i can but she wont eat them dead or alive. she only will eat mice? my other boa loves rats?

  • @tricksfordrugs because mice are the more delicous ones and rats are nasty jk i dont want snakes ew

  • lol fuck that I'd never let a snake into my house

  • is this an appropriate 1st snake to own and are they easy to handle when they grow over 6ft?

  • @TheFinal88 i dont think its a good first snake start with a ball python corn snake or milk snake. and idk about that second question

  • @TheFinal88 If you get a Boa as a baby, I would say yes, it is a good snake to start with. It comes with other benefits too, like watching it grow up, learning to read the snakes moods, etc. As far as handling them past six feet goes, I have a female that is around six feet and she is pretty easy to hold. She's a bit timid, but she doesn't mind being over my shoulders and checking out what's going on around the house.

  • @InspctrClouseau I just put a deposit down for a baby male columbian boa yesterday ;)

  • good video nothing he said was wrong and how else would you hold a snake of that size its to heavy not to hold around your neck

  • coz it would take the snake a lot of effort to come in front of him, people have been constricted by boa's, not eaten but if you hold a snake above the ground and move around, they will constrict purely to feel more secure so as not to fall. are you actually suggesting that the weedy bloke here is stronger then that boa? the tail end should be over his shoulder and the head end around his waist. get an education and some experience before you tell me to think.

  • Anyone worth their weight in salt knows where the tail is when the snake is around them. If the snake becomes too much the tail is unwound (w/o too much effort) and that's that. No biggie. However, if you don't know this simple thing about constrictors then you shouldn't have one.

  • the amount of pressure required to crush a human throat is around the same amount of pressure it takes to crush a coke can...worth thinking about when you put a snake around your neck.

  • rosy boas live on west coast

  • Chill out, guys. Boa constrictors don't eat people. Sure, they technically *could*, but a boa has never constricted a human. People are too big for a boa to eat, and not a recognizable meal. And no, a snake will never ever constrict in defense; when they strangle something, they are vulnerable. If they are in an uncomfortable situation and feel the need to defend themselves, they will bite, not constrict. With burms / retics / afrocks that are 15+ feet, you could be eaten, but never by a boa.

  • cool

  • this guy is so dumb.

    1. wrapping around his neck. if it were to squeeze a tiny bit. it could accidentaly make you pass out.

    2. Its damn close to his face

    3. Females DO get larger than that. My male is larger and females are usually bigger

  • k, if i was being choked by one, if i had a sharp ass hunting knife and cut at it would it freak out and jump off or would it just keep squeezing just saying. nobody know what

  • he's not even holding it right, i wouldn't trust anything from him that you couldn't learn from a nature programme

  • @pedro49ish Actually, hes holding it completely correct. Hes allowing it to drape across the back of his neck NEVER letting it come around the front of his neck. Therefore, it can't strangle him.

    Think before you speak.

  • he's even holding it wrong, i wouldn't trust anything from him that you couldn't learn from a nature programme.

  • didnt help me with shit but thanks....

  • Is it me or the snake tried to strangle him?

  • yeah boa kill him!!!

  • Boa constrictors are awesome snakes.

Don't get too large like burms and retics

and not really small like corn and ball snakes.

  • @9N8X actually carpet, woma, and blackheads, are way more docile but are not as thick but just as long.

  • @9N8X not exacly ball pythans can grow up to 17 feet mine is 12 foot

  • @exoticANIMALcentral no your thinking of bumrese pythons ball pythons only get like 3-6 ft

  • @9N8X yeah theyre like the prefect in between snakes. burms are cool but theyre just huge

  • @9N8X ball pythons arent small... i have a female( females get 1.50... right? is that small)

  • @yiannis1996 yes

  • goddamn that is huge!! i want :(

  • @BarneyTee females are bigger than males as with most species of snake

  • Boa Constrictors KICK ASS!!!!

  • I accidently pressed 1 star.. i didn't mean too.. its supposed to 5 :p

  • it looked like it was trin to constrict him but he moved it away every time

  • o.k, is it me, or was he worried about that boa round his neck?..lol

i breed boas, and i found that funny, how he was unsure how to move the snake.

decent video, but he didnt look like he wanted to have it on his shoulders any longer than he had to...lol

  • well your not soposed to put snake all the way around your neck because they can attack in a second and it is really hard almost inpossible to get them off

  • @18JJPayne lol i said that within the first two weeks of owning a ball python and got a boa after 3 months of having a ball python heh and that was only last week

  • Generally dont get too large? lol what are you comparing them to dinosaurs?

  • @Ryan1159 No, he's probably comparing them to other snakes

  • Anacondas, Rat snakes, Burmese pythons, reticulated python, rock pythons... These are just some of the snakes that get much longer than the common boa or red tailed boa constrictor. Boa constrictors are quite small compared to the "large" pet snakes.

  • to be fair a snake that is under 10ft would be a good size for a pet snake, some people keep 25ft anacondas and reticulated pythons in the same sive viv that i would keep a 3ft ball python lol
