I love how people can get so worked up because this is in modern English *sarcasm* It's not laziness that they didn't use the original. This isn't Harry Potter or anything. Think about the audience. Would they understand the original language??

Yes, Shakespeare wrote for the ear, but it's up to the artists who recreate his work to convey it in a way that it reaches the their audience. That's being creative, when you can take something such as Shakespeare and modernize it like this. Creativity has no boundaries. There are no rules.

terrible!~ shame on your ignorant uneducated teacher to "teach" you nothing. i teach and direct Shakespeare. What's the point of doing this in contemporary language. It looses the whole purpose and your education is cheated. if you like Shakespeare i hope you take classes in College. good luck
