Forgive me for being too literal in my thinking but a transexual's parts are his or her own reconfigured. There are no bionic parts, although female transexuals might have breast implants. What does that have to do with a Cyborg? I must confess, though, that I have not read Ms. Haraway's work.
Some see the cyborg (at least, as described in the essay) as a metphor for trans-ness because the cyborg is partially constructed by humans and cyborgs are genderless, non-reproductive beings. Obviously, I relate more to the metaphor as a childless genderqueer. ;)
