I had several issues with TSCC which I sort of put out of mind, but they do bother me. TSCC should have been a big deal (Again, I still like it) and the writing should have been tightened up. It was messy.

Besides the crazy cute girl who committed suicide and the cryptic vandalism, did anyone get what was going on with the overly nervous cute blonde at John's school? Nah, don't bother. I don't think there'll be a Season 3, so these Chronicles are RIP.

I'm a huge fan of Terminator along with TSCC, but this chap really makes sense. I dislike to agree, but I can't disagree.

I never really looked into the show in 'that' much depth, but I now realize how it was put together by duct tape. I'm sort of sad now. Ha.

I viewed my fair share of crap programs and film, so I believe it's about time Hollywood stops dumbing us down and thinking they can feed us this slop.

I do have to mention that the music score for TSCC was absolutely tight.

The Show is just not that good and there is nothing no one no even the makers can change what Arnold and Linda Have done if Linda Hamilton was in the show and it did not have arnold then it would still be ok. also yes the storyline has changed big in this show T3 Told us what happned to Sarah Connor she died in 2001 not 2005 as the show says. July 2 at 6:15p.m. was when Judgment Day Happened not in 2011.

I think he's right that the pilot was a little screwed up. I think the pilot had lots of inconsistencies because they were cutting & switching things out. But as the series unfolds it makes more sense esp if you remember that this series ignores the events of T3. As for the time warp thing, don't think anyone can say there is a very clearly set "rule" that the Terminator series followed. Much longer discussion on these topics at wetpaint. The techs in T1 realized that the arm and the chip together, meant that the chip was from some kind of robot.

I just saw the ep with Kyle Reese's brother (I believed Kyle was from a post-apocalyptic future, because of his confusion, and demeanor. This Derek guy seems like he's just rocked up from a boy-band convention.) But if Judgement Day is now delayed, then Kyle Reese would no longer have been sent back. In fact, he probably wouldn't even exist in the future!

So unless we hear that Kyle hasn't been sent back this time, then this series is BS!

Well it doesn't matter, because the arm from T1 set off a specific chain of events, in T2, even if it wasn't crushed, it would just be a mechanical arm... in some fuckers art collection. They should have made T3 as a prequel to T1, that was the events leading up to Kyle Reese being sent back. They've screwed up the series!

Yep. The other thing that peeves me, whether you look at T3, or SCC, is that the terminators are the same. If Sarah destroyed Cyberdyne, then instantly that changes the future. Skynet evolves differently, and there would no longer be T-800 style terminators or HKs, there'd be something else. Come to think of it, Skynet probably wouldn't even be called Skynet anymore. So how in hell is there a model 101 terminator in T3? Why are there HKS in SCC?

You make some good points. I continue to watch out of curiosity. The biggest issue that I have is the tech. Beginning with Dyson's work, it took AT LEAST 30 years for the "Arnie" model to even exist. On the TV show, we have an even MORE advanced model than Arnie by 2027 with a Judgment Day that happens in 2011? With Skynet's genius Miles Dyson dead and his work destroyed, how could there even remotely be the possibility that, over a DECADE later, something even MORE advanced could exist by 2027?

Sorry for digging old topics: Wasn't the Turk an even more advanced computer than the original Skynet they destroyed in T2? You have to allow for possibility of the same "paradox time loop" that someone else talked about here, same one that let Cyberdyne Systems start building Skynet. Also a later judgement day means the human developed tech is even more advanced: look at the difference even btwn 1997 & 2007. Again the terminator page at wetpaint is a good discussion site.

You didn't watch it. The decision to destroy Skynet wasn't Cameron's...it was John's. The time machine in the bank wasn't built for the purpose of sending John to stop Skynet from being built, it was to allow the engineer to return home. If you're gonna spend so much time criticizing the show, you should at least pay attention while you're watching it so you don't make a fool of yourself.

This Terminator thing reminds me a little bit, how they trashed the Highlander series. Highlander(1) was fantastic, Highlander 2 was acceptable in some way, Highlander 3, oh my god.

In fact, all I compare it to is what ELSE is on TV on Monday night. You can bet your ass I'll be watching it over whatever else is on. You can't expect a show to mirror its canon predecessors perfectly to please fanatical fans. ESPECIALLY ina show as canonically inconsistent as terminator. I give it a B- and will continue to watch it to see how it goes. Be Realistic folks. No one is expecting 24 episodes of T-2.

Well T1 and T2 aren't necessarily inconsistent. If T2 had maintained its original ending, where John was a US senator and Judgement Day never happened, then yes, it's inconsistent. But with T2's open ending, where the audience is unsure if Judgement Day is stopped, continuity has been maintained. T3 quashes this. Judgement Day HAS to happen, and in 1997.

You know. You can't be nitpicky about discrepancies in a story with ANY sort of time travel because of all of the things it implies. You do something in the past and it changes the future. It is easy to assume that the events in T-3 could easily happen based on ANYTHING from the future due to time travel capability. As for the show itself, I don't compare it to the Movies.

Well, actually... NO. Terminator clearly dictates the paradox theory of time travel. The event of the time travel (to the past) itself causes the events that lead up to the act/cause of time displacement. IE- Skynet sends a T-800 back through time to kill John's mother. John sends a soldier to protect her. The terminator is crushed in a factory, where its chip becomes the inspiration for Skynet. The soldier also proves to be John's father. Hence, the paradox theory.

This is just a story, and i believe that there will be a movie/tv show...presenting that fact to you as well. If not, and they produce another show missing this fact, THEN theres room for argument.

This show hasn't gotten far enough to judge imo, cause the look of characters is no biggie, and the look of the T model DAMN sure, as most fans know, doesn't matter. Thats computer generated in the future anyway.

There was no saying of whether the sending of the production line would stop. Ever. Thats what this case is all about. By the looks of it, it sure as hell didn't, and its caused this crisis. We cant say what John was doing ahead of time during the war either. Obviously helping himself.

This show is to tell us what John knows during the war as a leader. He WILL know what Skynet is doing or has done before the war begins. Plain and simple.

Dude, relax, the show wasn't THAT bad. And the whole series is inconsistent; beginning with the end of T1 and the Terminator's arm being the case of Skynet and the War. Every time a Terminator is sent back; the timeline shifts and the story changes. I didn't understand why they sent John and comp into time... but I'm sure there will be a reason.

I understand how you feel about the story not making sense. I HATE it when I watch a movie/tv show and I see something happen that seems to have no explanation as to why it is happening other than it is a plot device. I don't WANT to accept it becuase it's just a tv show/movie, or to have to turn off my brain to enjoy something. The film industry is full of idiots. I hope the writers' strike never ends and they end up having to hire all new writers, because the ones we've had thus far suck.

Wow! I knew this new TV show would be terrible but it sounds like the producers have absolutely no respect for the franchise. There have been SNL and MadTV parodies of the Terminator which were more faithful to the original story than Sarah Connor Chronicles!

If they could make a prequel to T1, that ignored t3, and was CHARACTER based, showing the death camps, and the violence that ensued during the uprising... I'd want to see that. I'd want to see John, as a fiercer, edgier figure than even his mother. I'd want to see his relationship with his younger father. I'd want to see the birth of the resistance... but I don't want to see a ridiculous T3 style Disney special.
