The key to defeating people who use a knife class (with commando and lightweight etc) is to carry a shotgun. Very often these players will run straight at you because they can normally reach you and kill you before you have time to kill them with a regular gun. Not so with the shot guns. If you see knifing guy running nearby switch to your shotguns and if they come at you give them both barrels.

@CapSlapAHoe I never played COD4 but WaW seems superior to MW2. MP40/Juggernaut was easily counterable. Hell, if you have a quick trigger finger with the gewehr you could beat it in close quarters. Assault rifles are ridiculous in MW2. Snipers can't do shit to them because they have the same range as a sniper rifle. Submachine guns can't do shit to them because Submachine guns have been made shit in this game, and an assualt rifle can easily win in close quarters.
