My husband was a full-blooded Pacific Islander - I am a white Kiwi. My daughter is brown and my son is quite fair skinned although their heritage is the same and they are both half Islanders. My daughter identifies very strongly with her Island side and my son a little less so.However both are equally proud of their heritage.
