The great thing about Sawyer is that he has so many stereotypical characters to deal with throughout the show, which makes for great nicknames. The fat guy, dumb blonde, a doctor, tough Spanish chick, Arab guy, Asians, blacks, burned out rockstar, dorky scientist, ghost whisperer, etc... and on top of that, he's got a southern accent. It's a formula that has "win" written all over it.

Sawyer certainly reveals a lot about his character with the nicknames he assigns people... a lot of those nicknames are some pretty high brow humor. The guy is certainly "well read," as someone else in the comments noted. :)

Of course, my favorites are often still the simpler ones that you just can't get out of your head once he says them. Who doesn't look at Kate and think, "Freckles"? And Faraday... "Welcome to the meeting, Twitchy." XD
