Although this is a simulator, ( there are unrealistic simulators like Flight Simulator isn't realistic when landing) is it realistic? And if so, in what?

If it'd have Battlefield 3 graphics, then you'd need some kind of a supercomputer to run it, as all of the map is already rendered (I mean the buildings etc., the only thing that seems to be rendered on the go are the cars and roads) and that would cause MASSIVE lag with good graphics.

Well, this can't really be compared to the real flight simulators FSX and X-Plane. Sure, this city is really detailed. But it's just 1 city. If they would build this detailed buildings for every city on the earth, it would take about 5000 terabytes of data. The helicopter physics look pretty simplified, which in my eyes, makes it more like a game than a simulator. Still, they did a pretty good job.

@sergeant5027 Do you base realism solely on graphics? this is one of the best simulators in a long time. Way better than Microsoft Flight sim., in terms of helicopter gameplay. The graphics are probably even better than Microsoft FS, you just don't notice it because you're always in an airplane thousands of feet above the ground.

@ArcheysGames what you see in this video is the beta version. What you are talking about is the community preview which requires OA and lets you try the "light" FM and some engine improvements

@DaRaginAUSSIE Yes to have that map with a little more details in arma series would be awesome. But it would be a crazy amount of work to put more details to it. Just when you look at the amount of building on this map, i can only dream how much time they spent putting them all. The result is very impressive already. But keep your eyes open for dedicated arma moders, maybe they may pull it off.
