fuck the 4 dislike hope u have a death like the king..the king mean everything 2 me..may god bless elvis..he the only king of the world and he resting in jesus hands now..i got elvis tottoos on my arm im only 27yrs old
Thanks so much for uploading this song. I went to Ole Miss and have their bands version as my only ringtone. This song stands for so much that is good in the South. Let us ALL pray that this way of life is not destroyed. I hope people take the time to understand the words and the true meaning behind them. God Bless us ALL. Our nation was built on God and will stand on God if only we honor Him. In public never be afraid to say thank you LORD.
@Hfdjjtuii56889 <<< GO REBLES !!!!!!!!!!! Im from Mississippi and Ole Miss is my team !!! Check out my video Country Aint Country anymore by Travis Tritt I put the ole miss entrance sign in that video (think thats the one)
I originally heard this song on an AM car radio when I was aout 13 and loved it then. I'm now 45 & still get goosebumps when I hear it. The arrangement does a great job tying together the songs for a common civil war story line; and inlcudes a wide range of dynamics & tempo's not common in pop music. .... Plus Elvis' baritone voice might add a little something too!
This is my absolute favorite version of this song! It's from the January 12, 1973 pre-broadcast rehearsal concert for Aloha from Hawaii. Mainly, what distinguishes this from the January 14th broadcast version, is that he sings with the backup singers from 0:45 to 1:03. I particularly like the "to live" at 0:57. They also had more gain on his microphone, to cut through the loud horn section and drums towards the end of the song.
this is by far one of the greatest songs ever written and elvis perfected it. it still brings chills down my spine listening to the part about the little girl crying for her father. it reminds me so much about my father who i lost when i was young and he was a soldier. rip dad i miss ya and i will see you and mom soon. godbless everybody
Fellow appreciative YouTubers, please pardon me while I step away from my screen right now and cry...If there is another singer/video that remotely rivals this, then please, by all mean, send them to me!!! RIP LOVE...From southerners the globe over and those who aren't 'priviledged' to have been born here...WE ALL MISS YOU DRAMATICALLY!!!!
