@supertsiable obviously this is not about his work but about his personaity and personal life......you should look elsewhere for that... a lecture perhaps
@TZAVELENA yeah,i know...i was trying to learn more about byron because of his poems(''the corsair'' and ''the dream'' are two of the best poems that i've ever read)and because of what he did for greece, and when i saw this i thought ''this a history channel's documentary,it must be good!''...but i got dissapointed by the way they approach one of the greatest poets...like a pop star or a pop idol of his time...no respect at all...
Byron reminds me of Alcibiades; both had a reputation for debauchery, both were irresistible to men and women, both were bisexual, both were soldiers, both had ambiguous identities (masculinity, religiosity, etc), both had money troubles, both were accused of impiety, and both had lisps.
@xARMINIUSx Actually, the main source on Alcibiades' life comes from Plutarch's biography (I didn't know Plato wrote about Alcibiades; I confess I have not read as much Plato as I should).
He sounds like just just another talented creep who uses people. Sounds like he didn't care at all about people's feelings or their well being.

Augusta was certainly the love of his life. I believe she was the only woman he loved unconditionally...

The similarities are eerie!
