Like Viet Nam when the average citizen is forced into war, that is, when his comfort zone is challenged then there will be protests. That is why they've not yet instituted a draft. Unlike the Vietnam War when the media was always reporting on protests & atrocities of war, the mainline media today is 99% govt controlled & they only report pro-war propaganda. Also they marginalize protests so large groups of people won't get together & people feel isolated. This is China's model & it has been fully adopted here in the US as well.
