  • Not a problem for the PKM...

  • This is the best gun in BF3

  • Ready for the zombie apocalypse!

  • hmm 1600 7.62x54 nato(i think). so thats where our tax dollars keep going

  • @morgan123476 would you rather they not tested their weapons?.....

  • @morgan123476 It fires 7.62x51. not 7.62x54, that's the rimmed cartridge.

  • raatatatatatatatatatatatatatatatatatatatatatatatat

  • Shooter "I have to pee.."

  • I hope ya'll gave that fellow some ear protection.

  • The shooter's shoulder must have been in pain after this test

  • That doesn't sound like rambo.

  • Impressive. The M60E4/MK43 is my favorite weapon... hell if I could own only one gun it would be that. I'd love to at least fire one.

  • aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaatatatatatatatatatatatat lol

  • Anyone want some 7.62 brass for reloads? lol

  • didja hit it

  • This guy can be my support gunner any day!

  • Not quite as amazing as the M1917 45 minute test, but still cool! Looks like they've patched alot of the jamming issues.

  • @TaZ101SAGA

Yes but apples and oranges. The 1917 is water cooled. As long as fresh water is kept pumping, the barrel is kept within tolerances and there is less heat soak into the receiver. This means parts expand less, lube lasts longer and there is less galling and swelling of/breakage of parts.

  • @TaZ101SAGA were can i find a video of the test with the m1917?

  • @dopefish93 I don't think you can, unless you can find the archive footage somewhere. John Browning fired it for over 45 minutes in a demonstration for the military at the time.

  • and now touch the barrel

  • @pascal81768 Challange accepted...

  • naicee

  • Pig just plain works.

  • probably felt the recoil in his sleep too.

  • rambo would love a belt that long

  • Whatever he was shooting at...is dead now.

  • a LOT of bulits

  • i think whtever was at the other side of tht barrel was dead by now..

  • hahah look at the stack of links :P

  • 1400 rounds of 7.62... thats at least $900 down the drain

  • how many rounds did it shoot?

  • @shermonruler 1600 in the belt. It went ABOUT 1400rds straight...

  • @sorryociffer thats pretty good do you know if it is the best as of now?(for an lmg)

  • @shermonruler I cannot say with 100% certainty, but it is DEFINITELY among the top tier guns. HK, and FN also have some newer designs that are exceptional. I would contend that if they could do it, there would be video of it for promotional sales/purposes. I have not seen such videos, but that does not mean they don't exist.

  • how many rounds?

  • holy crap

  • that noise is going to be stuck in my head for a while

  • @GenerationMine Yes, it is quite monotonousness.

  • Now thats a torture test

  • LOL. Nice vid. That is a heck of a lot of money you're blasting away there... Besides, are full auto machine guns legal in America? Must be great fun though.

  • HOOAH!!!!

  • baby its a ALL NIGHT LONG

    (shootout)

  • 1: Overheat Barrel.

    2: Wrap Bacon around it.

    3: ???

    4: Profit!!!

  • @fresca9990211 It also keeps the Muslims away! Apparently pork is their kryptonite:P Might be a good idea to wrap your gun with bacon when fighting the Taliban..

  • @fresca9990211 they already made a gun for that.. its called the m3 grease gun..

ok ok bad joke, =P but so was his =P

  • i want his job!!

  • I have run maybe 200 rds semi through an AK47 and the heat is unbareable

  • wtf didnt you recharge and keep firing

  • This guy must be deaf...

  • if a weapon gets hot, it gets inaccurate and weaker. cuz the barrel expants untill its bigger than the bullet, but how does the heat actually slow down the rof and make the gun actually stop (srry for bad english)

  • @bask185 The heat from firing causes parts to expand and bind. The bolt will expand and get tight in the rails and bolt lug recesses. Heat can also make various parts of the belt mechanism expand and go out of spec. Then there is the issue of the carbon and powder build up.

Eventually they will expand, bind, and get dirty enough to slow down until it is so bad it stops in it's tracks.

  • dont leave bad comments i now the owner and mostly every body there that is were my dad works hi rob brown

  • dont leave bad comments i know the owner and mostly every bodie there my dad works there hi rob brown

  • lol wtf is the barrel ceramic? this is impressive haha! bet his shoulder got a lil tingley

  • @awsomeshot

    Stellite lined. Good shit.

  • @sorryociffer should be the m60-FTW edition

  • Hmm.... Somehow, I don't think that M60 is going to pass Marine Corps inspection...

  • 33000 viewer!!!!!!!

  • that one belt can move a lot of units forward. lol

  • THAT has to be a sore shoulder!

  • why is the sound of the gun different?

at the beginning it was a totaly different sound to when it was around 3 minutes

  • I'm no gun expert, but I think the jamming of the gun has to do with a combination of things. Most likely overheating of the barrel and the moving parts plays a big part in this has heat expansion becomes an issue the longer sustained fire is continued. Not to mention residues from the combustion of the propellants and stuff gumming up the pipes and stuff. Correct me if I'm wrong, as said I'm no expert.

Damn that thing had to be practically glowing red after all that. Would have loved to of be

  • I would clean that gun if i could do this

  • holy shit...

  • More like a torture test for the person shooting the weapon.

  • I'm surprised rounds weren't cooking off as they entered the chamber! Why did it fail? Did it just get too dirty?

  • one of the best jobs in the world, if not THE best

  • wow how much ammunition spent XD

  • i want this job

  • get some bacon on that barrel :)

  • SUPPRESSIVE FIRE!!!!!

  • Pity the poor fella. They should have a mechanized remote trigger control.

  • This is how we mow down insurgents.

  • This is how I hunt deer.

  • YEAH SUCK ON THAT U DAMN KOREANS!!!!

  • It seems like the firing rate is getting lower as the barrel disintegrates.

  • i wonder how hot that barrel must be at the end of the test..

  • Ima M60E4. Om nom nom nom all your ammo!

  • shooters probably a little tired after that lol

  • Mowin down some north koreans :)

  • oh fuck ! !

  • damn thats bad ass . very nice lmg

  • sick video man!

  • How much was that ammunition you just wasted?

  • a lot of money! woooooooooooo

    save it for the reLovetion

  • damn ill bet his shoulder fuckin hurts

  • God I love the M60

  • dmmmmmmmmmmm is deam good

  • What's the black thing ejecting from the gun?

  • thats the banding thats holding the bullets together on the belt feed

  • the links, i was confuzed at first too.

  • @TheDarkNobleOne brass links

  • that barrel was probably heating up like a fat man walking up stairs.

  • didnt no they made belts that big

  • @sebbysam444

You can make the belts any size you want from 2 rounds to 15000. Unlike some other guns that run belts where the links are ALWAYS connected in 25, 50, 100 , or 250 round segments, M60 links are individual. That's why you saw them piling up to the side rather than coiling like a continuous belt.

  • @sorryociffer You can get solid links that connect also, you just have to skip a round at the link.

  • Comment removed

  • wow there is a block of led in the hillside somewhere

  • tatatatatatatatatatatatatatatatatatatatatatatatatatatatatatatatatatatatatatatatatatatatatatatatatatata......................

  • I want to see the Target.

  • He's using the Bandolier perk :)

  • Great! That's a real test. That's a fact. No bla bla...

  • Not only did he waste a perfectly good barrel he wasted a perfectly M60E4. the firing pin has got be flat by the end and the feeder would be destroyed the barrel and gas piston would be melted and that bolt would be shaken loose and all the soot from the burnt powder would be all over the inside whey would have to replace all the parts...

  • @sergeant505 Its called a torture test for a reason bud.

  • Its like crashing a new car with dummies in it....to see how it holds up.

  • He just ruined a perfectly good barrel by doing this. What a waste of resources !

  • One c130 going to Iraq carries 25 million rounds of 5.56. This guy really didn't use that many resources at all.

  • This is not a 5.56x45mm, but a 7.62x51mm NATO 147 grains Full-metal jacket instead of the puny 55 grains or 62 grains.

  • I'm perfectly aware of all of that. I was just trying to give you a basic idea of how much bullets/resources that are really used in the world.

  • @1962SatanTookOver2

This was a torture test. It was by no means a waste of resources. Every gun ever used by anyone that matters was first subjected to induced failure tests like this, to get an idea of it's durability and limits. These guys just happened to record it and put it on youtube.

Of course he ruined a perfectly good barrel, and chucked over 1000 rounds of .308 into a pile of dirt. But it was necessary to see how much the gun could take before it failed.

  • damn thats alot of 7.62 cost too much for that shit lol

  • sounded like a broken cd

  • two things, whats the target look like when he's done firing, and who's the poor bastard that's going to clean that gun.

  • @shem1911 what target?lol and it sucks to be the guy that cleans it

  • @shem1911 Thats why they put steel wire brushes in cleaning kits lol

  • holy crap its going to over heat and turn red lol

  • The cyclic rate of fire of the M60 is 550 rpm, not 450. As for the poster who sugested taking the human operator out of it and using a stand and chrono, exactly what point would that serve on a durability test? Belted 7.62 ammo is not consistent in terms of bullet weights and charges anyway. This is intentional so the cone of fire is wider, thus allowing for a larger "beaten zone". As for this vs the M240, the M240 is still superior to the M60.

  • As long as the 240 is mounted. The M240B is heavy, even for a 7.62 machine gun. The M60 is lighter at least.

  • dam with all that ammo to waste i would of at least tried to have some fun

  • you dont think that would be fun??

  • yea true but i think all its ammo would have blew up a tank

  • dude your noot even shooting it

  • all this needs is some door gunner music

  • It fired about 1050 rounds before failing.

  • how can you tell? or your just makin a number up for jokes?

  • I never joke about MGs I have used.

That MG fires at a nominal rate of about 450rpm. It fired for 2 minutes and 39 seconds. Do the math. You do know how...right?

My rough estimate also correlates pretty well with the number of rounds he has remaining.

  • come on who fires that many rounds at once...

  • yes but did you take into consideration the slowdown from heat?

  • i know with taxes and alot of background checks you can get class 3 weapons like uzi ak47 ect but can you get liight /heavy machine guns like m60 m429 and browning .5 cal

  • Yes. You can buy a howitzer if you have the money and it is a pre-86.

  • can you buy the ammo (artillarary shells)

  • @Last1Left2324 they cost an arm leg and your first born child tho haha. because the civilian clientel is so limited making demand low they are pricey. I looked at getting my dad an automatic weapon he used to tote an M60 as an air force SP but they are like 12k-15k and up.

  • You could hear its rhythm change towards the end. Impressive though.

  • i like this thing but the iron sights are horrible

  • I'd like to know:

    1) On what round number did it fail? And was this test repeated for statistical significance?

    2) What was the actual failure mechanism?

    3) What were the effects on rate or fire, muzzle velocity and accuracy? I wish they had used a test stand instead of a human operator and a chronograph and some scoring system to get this data.

  • thats a hell of a lot of rounds. damn !!!!

  • "Hey Billy, wanna earn a buck? Go over touch that barrel, just for a second."

    *Gets popcorn*

  • That's still very good.

  • that is a great suppressed fire.

  • Its comforting to know that your gun can continuously fire more rounds that you can physically carry. Why do we need the Mk48 again? Or the M240 for that matter...

  • the navy still uses it..i just qual'd with em last week

  • They need to bring this thing back.

  • Actually, it is still in use, just not as a general issue weapon. It is used for more specialized roles that the M240 cannot fill as well/easily such as MOUT or special forces OPS where a heavier firepower is needed but is a lighter smaller package.

  • @sorryociffer do you mean the m249, or do you really mean the m240?

  • @jtrebuchon57

    In regards to what?

  • @sorryociffer you said specialized roles that the m240 cannot fill. I was wondering wether u meant m249 or m240.

  • @D0ublezer0x

I humped an M60 around for a while, she worked great. The key is that you need to literaly dump CLP in the weapon on all the main components and moving parts. As long as she has a hell load of CLP, she'll work just fine. The link pull weight is remarkable as well, the paws can pull in up to about 150 rounds hanging off the weapon. My favorite part is that the weapon is so balanced that it doesn't feel like it weighs as much as it does, it was made to be carried on the move.

  • @Mr2ndAmendment

was this before or after the redesigns?

  • Respect USA!

  • Im not sure half these people even know what the 7.62 nato is......Its a .308 everybody...

  • that hot barrel would be a dangerous melee weapon lol

  • This is a light machine gun because it is so much more mobile than heavy machine guns: like the .50cal machine gun, you can't carry it at all alone, it could take 2-3 people to carry the weapon itself, and 2-3 more people to carry extra ammunition and the bi or tripod.

  • wow,this isn't a LMG(light machines gun),this is a HMG(heavy machines gun),realy increble...

  • No, its an LMG.

  • No he's right. Light Machine Guns use a lower caliber. The M60 uses the 7.62 NATO. Makes it an HMG.

  • HMG's are machine guns that use .50BMG (12.7x99mm) or larger. The M60 isn't an HMG. Just sayin :)

  • Actually, The MG42 was clearly classified as an HMG, As was the Browning .30-30. Neither of those fire a .50BMG.

  • MG42 and Browning M1919 would be more classified as GPMG (General Purpose Machine Gun) also called MMG (Medium Machine Gun) as they come between an LMG and an HMG. A GPMG is more of what a M60 would be too. Some people just don't consider GPMG a true category, in which case they should be bumped down to LMG status cause their power, range, and penetration dosen't come close to a real HMG. P.S. the Browning is chambered in .30-06 not .30-30 (with some modern versions in 7.62 NATO)

  • You're right about the browning being chambered for .30-06. But The MG42 was and still is classified under a WWII weapons catalog as an HMG. Granted their power doesn't even come close to a .50BMG, But none the less they were classified as it. What truly defines a HMG in the U.S. Army Dept. of Intel(according to my AIT handbook) And HMG is any Machine Gun that requires a crew to carry, And handle. Now the M60 is free of this category, But the MG42, And M1919 are not.

  • Hm. I see what your saying. Weapons like that were categorized differently back then and the Department of Intel has their own way of classifying things. But anyways we were talking about the M60 and now we're off on the weapons of WWII, ha.

  • Well, Even by the Ordnance division classifies the M60 as an LMG because it's man portable, So I guess this conversation was pointless.XD

  • Heh, guess so.

  • Oh well.

  • Is it me or did it slow down?

  • Yes it did. why is explained in comments further down.

  • Dude it isn't the us government doing this test it is the weapons manufacturer US ordanance...So no non of that is payed for by you unless you have baught somthing from US Ordanance

  • thats a good way to get the battalion armourer to sneak into your room at night and cut your throat lol

  • i noticed the fire rate to slow a little at about 2:15

  • Nice. When I was about 11, I went to a navy days event and they had some of the equipment on show. I remember picking up an AK-47 (damn it felt heavy), and I think the MP5 Was there. I also cocked and dry-fired a huge gun. I later found out that it was one of our GPMGs (General Purpose Machine Gun), looked a lot like the M604E. I also remember not being able to cock it withoug the help of a Marine.

  • A round that entertains someone is a round well spent

  • why did'nt you touch the barrel

  • lool the costs of the wasted bullets would be pretty high. i guess..
