The Burning Red and Supercharger are two albums that are going to haunt Machine Head's career forever. Granted The Burning Red does have 3 solid songs on it, but once you look at the image they were going for you really wonder how you can take them seriously anymore. Luckily Through The Ashes Of Empires, The Blackening, & Unto The Locust REALLY overshadows these.
@guitarzane97 Silver, the title track, & The Blood, The Sweat, The Tears are the three. As for Supercharger, Bulldozer was the only song I can say I really enjoy listening too from that album!
@guitarzane97 Trephination is okay. One of the better tracks but still not great compared to Bulldozer! But the Hole In The Sky cover from the deluxe edition is really good though.

The Burning Red Gives it A Nu-Metal Edge with a majority side of exploring And defining there music in New Elements of there band perspective which i love most while Supercharger gives them some what nu metal but more of Alternative Rock and NU-Metal approach with a cooler rapping style and more of a slighty faster sound than The Burning Red But still maintain a mainstream sound for the audenice which i love about it also The Burning Red 9/10 and SuperCharger 8.5/10 My Natural opinon

TTAOE was released on a different label and was much more badass and definitely true machine head. hell you can even hear true machine head on the bridge to this song, though not as much in the rest. if they were ever in it for the money theyve gone back to their true selves

wasn't a huge fan of the Mighty Head taking this route, but if they were feeling it, good for them. The Burning Red was still a good album. And they pissed over other bands taking this route during this brief trip, heavier and more crushing than pretenders; not to mention tits in red caps.

I like the blackening it is a pretty good album, but for them to start shit with Limp Bizkit, lol, they would have sucked Fred Dursts cock 10 years ago to be on the same stage, but now that Metallica and real metal is cool again, they are gonna do the trendy thing and hate on a band thats no longer popular, Rob is a cool guy, but for him to be mad about the bookings, Limp sold 30 million records, and have been gone for 8 years, so wtf can he expect, its just high school schoolyard bullshit.

There is a difference in taking a new direction and selling out. This album is obviously the latter. They were riding the Korn, LB coat tails then Rob got his head out of his ass and started creating instead of imitating again. Now they are taking new directions and growing as a band.

that doesnt make them good.t. they failed in the nu metal era and are failing in the thrash metal era. they fallow trends and try to copy other bands. anyone can do that. if i wanted too i can play guitar and write music just like sevendust after all I got a black singer. that would just be a copy cat move on my part. its easy to make music when u got a laid out floor plan like limp bizkit and later metallica and other bands. MH never created anything different. limp did esp in guitars.

It's got "Five" on it though, where Robb explains about him being raped in a garage haha, I think that makes it the best album by far! Obviously there was "Violate" from the previous album, but it wasn't as seductive

well its all our own opinions, so no one is really wrong Arn0r89. I just think after the 1st 2 albums, the burning red was a huge step letdown. supercharger was shit also. apart from blood sweat tears, do they even play much songs from both albums live anymore?
i dont think TBR is heavy, its pretty poppy nu-metal. the production itself is light 2, the guitars and drums sound so thiny compared to their other albums

well its what i think, most songs on that album just bored me.
While MH still rule live, i think in songwriting terms, their better days are well and truly behind them. I do hope il be proved wrong...but i've hoped that since supercharger,Ashes and blackening.

I love this song, and i love "The Burning Red". I dont think they sold out at all. Have you guys really listened to TBR?? Its heavy as fuck...and of course i love TTAOE and The Blackening.
