Did we - I thought we played Dynamo Berlin and Bayern Munich. We lost to Anderlecht or Barca in 77 I think. Hamburg played v Forest - I remember well (Keegan was at Hamburg) and Robertson got the winner - now Villa's assistant manager
We like to think he learnt everything at Coventry! I only saw him play once - my first game, one of his last for city. Met him a couple of years ago when he came back for a former players gathering. Smashing bloke happy to have a chat. He's certainly a villa legend.
My uncle took me to this match after many hints that Liverpool were playing Villa. We lost 2-0 are sure you were at this game. It was a really good natured crowd and I can remember how bloody cold it was as every body in the stand was stamping their feet on the wooden stand to keep warm. I could have cried, but we ended the season as European champions and won the league back the following year!
I was at this game.
