Obviously the first version of the game released, MGO1 contained several glitches, lagged often, unbalanced and outright terrible game that came with Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence. Despite it's many flaws, people still played the fuck out of it. The modes were pretty simple, usually some variant of kill other people or hold this frog while killing other people. There was also a mode where one player could be Snake and 7 other faggots would be guards.

MGS3 Online was better than MGS4 for many reasons. You didn't need to buy the characters. There was no stupid leveling up or Drebin points. Much harder to get headshots. Snake mode was funner. All the guys on the team looked the same.

To answer <that question, MGO comes on the MGS4 disc, and It's free for the basic pack. You will need to spend extra money to obtain the GENE, MEME and SCENE expansions for online as well as for the CODEC pack1 and CODEC pack 2. That's all.

Yes, the online mode was shut down to make room for the METAL GEAR ONLINE for PS3 which is fail compared to this one.

And also, it encouraged people to get a PSP and MGO PO+ to play that online.

MGO1 was killer! I remember I kept getting kicked because i was a CHA, but I could dance like a fox and got top 100 in DM and SNE. My favorite memory was one day i went into an AC!D clan tryout under an alt name, and i was the only one on the red team, in a full room of 8, in GGL TDM. And I killed everyone on the enemy team. 3 AK headshots, 1 Shotty kill, 1 Knife kill, 1 nade kill, and and AA kill :) Good timez n.n
