What a lot of people don't get about free-climbing is that FALLING IS NOT AN OPTION. When you solo, you know even a small fuck-up can mean disaster...so every move is precise and on every move your hands and feet are 100% in the proper spot. If you don't feel certain you can make a move, then you don't. Solo climbers are not the irresponsible/foolish/adrenali­ne junkies people think they are. In fact, when falling is not an option, neither is adrenaline...soloing is calm and adrenaline-less.

All climbers must free-solo on some level. You would know this if you were familiar with sport/trad climbing. A free-solo (climbing ropeless) is not necessarily careless. This particular climber has this route "sauced" and it is within his ability level.
