Gosh, her death was so tragic. As far as what I see in the picture, I see a little girl trying to stay perfectly still so the photographer can take the picture. A lot of those types of pictures back then made people look creepy because of that.

staring at something for a long time will sort of be imprinted in your eyes like staring at a silhouette for a long time, you can still see it even when you move your eyes around or constantly blink.

what im getting it that, the combined effect of staring it long enough will give double effect (the one imprinted in your eyes and the 1 you're looking at) and it will make it look like the portrait or image is moving when it really isn't
