i agree with shipuh that Korean language is easier to read than Chinese or Japanese characters. i just started learning Korean a few months ago & i could read & write in Korean now, i still have to learn understand more! Rain's english is quite good!

I've noticed that the majority of Koreans tend to have the best grasp on the pronunciation of the English language than most South-East Asian people I have met. (Not on everyone's behalf of course...) I think it's because Koreans have a good grasp of differentiating consonant sounds and vowel sounds from their written language. Japanese merge almost all their vowels to consonants, and a good majority of Chinese dialects and other South-East Asian Languages also focus on pitch and tone...

I think English speaking people probably have an easier time learning Korean than other South-East Asian language as well. Learning tones is a very difficult if you haven't grown up with it, and written Chinese characters take a long time to learn. Even Japanese is a very harsh language, but Korean just seems to flow off the tongue, and is easy to read. I took my Japanese friend to see Speed Racer and she said Rain's English was very good, especially when he said his "F" sounds like "Of course".
