  • the old strawberry shortcake is so cute

  • I feel deprived; I didn't have cable growing up in the eightees. I never got to see one of my berry cool heroines. Thank you for enlightening me. I had the Pets On Parade album- very weird to see the cartoon version of it. I had similar visuals in my head when I listened to it all those years ago!

  • I didn't get cable until 1986. My parents taped these specials for me and my sister in 1984 when they ran on one of the local Washington, DC channels, WDCA.

  • Huh. Well, I didn't know about it for sure, if it was on. Maybe my folks thought I was too obsessed with that character as it was! LOL

  • Lol, I didn't get cable until 1999 and that was satellite. But back in the 80's we had this channel that offered cable shows for people that didn't have it. It aired Teddy Ruxpin, Snorks, Smurfs, and more.

  • Good thing my copies are on beta, so I can transfer them onto VHS, and keep them as masters; that way they don't wear out. ;)

  • Well, I transferred my replacement tapes onto DVD, which is how I got these videos on here in the first place.

  • I don't know if I ever saw this one, but I'm sure glad you posted it. I was very disappointed to see that they changed Strawberry Shortcake so much. I remember seeing "Strawberry Shortcake Meets the Berrykins" and loving it. I do remember "Pets On Parade" as well. Ah, such "berry sweet" memories. ;)

  • I totally remember all of those. I miss watching that.

  • wow, its odd that I havent been able to find the Strawberry Shortcake and the Baby Without a Name tape that I had for 10 years and I compleatly forgot that part where they are dancing around the fire... but I remebered it when I saw it.

  • How cute, way better than the new version of strawberry shortcake...

  • this is sooo old its old to my mom but its new to me!

  • Oh my goodness you've made me soooo happy! This was my favorite cartoon as a child. I wore out my tapes as well. ^_^ I miss watching them so much. Thanks for the upload!

  • oh my goodness!!! this was one of my favs when i was a little girl!!! thanks for posting this im saving it for my daughter to watch herself since the newer ones are crappy! THNX!!! :)

  • I forgot about so much of this, but it brought it all back...my favorite show at 4 or 5. My oh my, did they switch plumb pudding's gender in the new ones...

  • Plum Pudding was only in three (well, if you want to get technical, four) cartoons. In The World of SSC and SSC in Big Apple City, Plum was a boy. In Baby Without a Name and Berrykins (which is not shown here, because it was not on my original tape), they changed the character to a boy. Don't ask me why they did that, because I have no idea. I was only two when I first saw these.

  • Nice, but maybe a little video enhancement, like contrast/brightness stuff will make this clip better...

  • thanks from the bottom of my chilhood for posting this...i really loved strawberry shortcake when i was a little girl, those where cute cartoons!!!

  • Yay!!!! Strawberry Shortcake made my 80's. This is the awsomest video on YouTube and you're the awsomest for posting it! :>D

  • ah memories. Shame it never hit off very well. still at least Russi Taylor is making good use of that voice as Minnie Mouse.

  • Minnie! THAT'S why that voice sounded familiar.

  • Russi Taylor, the voice of Strawberry Shortcake, also voiced Webbygale and Joan Gerber, the voice of Sour Grapes, also voiced Mrs. Beakley, both in Disney's "DuckTales".

  • Wasn't Russi Taylor also Martin from The Simpsons?

  • That's right. Taylor also voiced Lickety-Split on the "My Little Pony" series opposite Bart Simpson actress Nancy Cartwright as Gusty. Check out the episode "The Glass Princess" when both characters talk to each other, who sound like Bart and Marin talking to each other. ; )

  • Joan Gerber only voiced Sour Grapes in Pets on Parade. Sour Grapes voice in the last three was Jeri Craden.

  • Katie Leigh voiced Lickety Split. Russi Taylor voiced Cupcake, Morning Glory, Rosedust, and a couple of Bushwoolies on MLP.

  • what was the name of the bad guy?

  • The Peculiar Purple Pieman of Porcupine Peak ("yah-tah-tah-tah-tah-tah-tah-tah, tah-tah-tah-tah! Cha!")

Come on, you know you remember the Pieman's little song and dance thing whenever he said his name!

  • Awesome! Thanx for the post

  • I remember this. I miss this cartoon so much. I loved this when I was little.

  • OMG! i haven't seen that in YEARS!! but i remember watching all of those. thanks for posting it. i loved it! and now i want to buy the dvd to show to my niece =)

  • anybody else realize that Strawberry's voice is the same as Minnie Mouse?

  • Not until I saw Pets on Parade again.

For those of you who want to know, the voice of SSC and Minnie Mouse is Russi Taylor.

  • omg i HEART this i LOVED the pets parade!

  • Ha - I recognized all of these except the ghost one - maybe my mom wouldn't let me watch it when I was a kid. :) Great memories, thanks!

  • this is so beautiful...thanks!!!

  • Wow! Thanks! This brought a smile to my face I used to have all of these videos and it good to see them again. If only cartoons were still this good.

  • dang that is so unlucky i am going to see if the smagoody in my town. has a copy if not i am going to have to buy one off of the net.

  • yeah i know but i can't find it at walmart any more. thwey must have sold out fast. i live in a small town so new dvd's go fast sometimes.

  • I actually had to buy my copies from Amazon, because none of the stores in my area got the darn disc in!

  • oh my gosh i use to love this show when i was a kid. to bad i lost my copy Strawberry Shortcake in the big apple city. cry's that was my fav special of them all my grandmaw got me a copy at a old kind like dollar store. i am 21 right now i hope i can find some of these on dvd sighs

  • The World of Strawberry Shortcake and Strawberry Shortcake in Big Apple City have been released on DVD.

  • This show makes me hungry - all those food names! Anyhow I was anxious to see this because it was made by the same people who made care bears, this came just before them. Care Bears was definately better then this although I did like that friend song.

  • I cry...(not really) This is so adorable. They made so many new changes to the series...What's Almond Tea named in the new version? Heck, even Raspberry Tart had her named changed!

  • Tea Blossom is her new name. Raspberry Tart is now Raspberry Torte. Ugh. Give me classic Shortcake any day!

  • thank you so much for sharing this...very precious memory as a kid...

  • My daughter loved this!

  • your daughter has good taste. ^_^ How old is she?

  • She's 4. Do they show these episodes on any channel on TV?

  • I like how in the early episodes Plum Puddin is a Boy and later is a girl!

  • I thought I was the only one who noticed that. Back when these aired I recall noticing that and being way creeped out by it.

That's probably the first time a character was switched like that and it passed without comment.

  • I really miss the old Strawberry Shortcake, I wish they'd bring it back. I HATE the new version. Thanks for posting!

  • I am soooo thankful for this! I used to have all these on tape when I was a kid. I remember all the songs!!Thanks!!!
