i have this same computer, and i upgraded it . i put a faster clocked CPU, 3.8 instead of 3.4, thew in a nvidia 7800 gs, and faster ram. and i max out crysis with it. it still has windows xp on it, because i get the best performance with that OS.
I have the Dimension XPS Gen 3 and it powers up only when it wants too. So whenever i do get it to power back up, i will just leave it on, and not shut it down until I figure out whats wrong. But anyways, do you know what's wrong by any chance??? I don't think it's my mother B or power supply. Please HELP anyone.
Not sure if I have enough info, but does it start up with no response (black screen)? If so, it could very well be the video card. The problem with these high end gamer models is the video card. Often times if it gets overheated, you'll have this problem (and your forced to turn it off for prolonged periods to cool down). Especially with Radeons. Just go to the video card menu and reduce the resolution output and it should fix.
If you want advice on PC repair email me with your issues i will get back to you . No offense but i work in a PC repair shop and i have 50-80 computers on the go all day everyday. FOAGhost@gmail.com

You should sell that computer. You would probably get $300 or $400. It's a really nice computer
