Saw the film and it wasn't even entertaining. Predictable and over the top characters, not believable. Depalma tries to do a remake of his "Casualties of War" film that starred Penn and Fox in 1988. I don't know about your experiences but the case this movie is based upon, Steven green and his squad did not have any females present in their unit when they manned a checkpoint in 2006, the checkpoint where this schoolgirl passed through that they later raped & killed. So in that sense the movie is an accurate portrayal.
So they werent acting like the normal squad then in other words.The normal squad in Iraq has at least one female attached so they can deal with other females.If they don't have a female they do not go out of their way to screen females as closely as they did in that video. The soldiers themselves have admitted to them, shelling entire villages, indiscriminately bombing Fallujah, these are documented by the soldiers themselves, if you would only listen to what they say. Saw the film and it wasn't even entertaining. Predictable and over the top characters, not believable. Depalma tries to do a remake of his "Casualties of War" film that starred Penn and Fox in 1988. Difference was this film uses C-rate actors and not one likable, believable or sympathetic character which the 1st film had. Too much one-sided anti-war preaching to the audience.

War is always ugly no matter what the reasoning is behind it. These same types of crimes were commited in Vietnam too, while were on the subject. No, you are mistakened, I love my job in the military. I wouldn't trade it for anything. When I was in Iraq from 2004-2005 I was Mechanized Infantry but have since then moved on to be an Intelligence Analyst for the Army. Were not all bad, it's just that select few who get all the attention from the media that make the rest of us look bad.

I don't know about your experiences but the case this movie is based upon, Steven green and his squad did not have any females present in their unit when they manned a checkpoint in 2006, the checkpoint where this schoolgirl passed through that they later raped & killed. So in that sense the movie is an accurate portrayal.
