The Chinese aren't all they're made out to be. When I lived there for a short time, at the gum was a Black belt in Taekwondo/Kungfu, he used to perform flashy loud sounding kicks on the bag. The day he challenged me to a friendly contact fight. (no face hitting) was the last day I ever saw him at the gym again. And I only had 4 years of Kung Fu and four years in the Marines. Again, Asian fighters are no match (in general) to our fighters. They got alot of stuff that looks good, but that's it.

UFC 72 was in Belfast and the only guy on the card whom I believe has an Asian background is Okami. Okami lost to Franklin on decision. I believe a more valid question would be, what are YOU talking about?

There are many in China like elsewhere who do martial arts without serious combative intents, who would give you such an impression. If you sparred with a seasoned Sanshou fighter you would get a different feeling. Also keep in mind that Muay Thai, native to Thailand, is highly respected by fighters internationally. Not to mention jujutsu from Japan.

Ryo Chonan said in an interview that alot of Japanese fighters tend to go for a submission rather than a KO which explains why most of them are not aggressive.
There're, of course, exceptions. On the Chinese side, Liu HaiLong. He's not great, but he's obviously pretty strong, and also obviously loves to hit. Frankly, he comes off as a bit of a pompous jerk in his fights.
There probably laughing because in a real fight and even in san shou matches in china you don't get moved to another location to finish in the middle in the fight.

Nice fight. Work on your ground work a bit, thought you held your own and did good. Striking is great, but when you clinch, you need to move! Use your hips and shoulders, constantly move around. Jerk him around and press your forearms on his neck as hard as possible. Keep moving and kneeing to the sides too. If he blocks a knee elbow, but I don't think elbows were allowed. When he tries to bait you to the ground, kick, kick, kick! Good job man, keep it up.
That Chinese guy's san shou skills were terrible. So was his conditioning and ground skills. And that was one of the worst kimura attempts by the muay thai guy that i have ever seen. both those guys need a lot of work.
Yeah for the kimura attempt the Muay Thai guy did not rotate and put his right leg on the guy's back. You can tell something was wrong. He also did not really try to pass the half guard in the beginning.
the chinese dude sucked. The trick in fighting these yankees, they are as predictable as they come. They will use some striking then try to finish on the ground, using BJJ or some other choke, arm breaker hold.
Learn some basics of your opponent before facing them dude. And learn some ground work, do some weight training so you wont be drained at the end. You can have better technique all you want but if youre drained, youre done.
wow, I can't believe you picked that up! Yeah, "Buakaw" the code the Black Tiger coach uses! I think its for either a push kick or a hook kick. They use codes like "Coban" and "Kaoklai" for specific combinations and tactics.
With MMA becoming bigger and bigger the chinese will get into it and they WILL kick ass like in pretty much every thing they really try.

That Chinese guy's san shou skills were terrible. So was his conditioning and ground skills. And that was one of the worst kimura attempts by the muay thai guy that i have ever seen. both those guys need a lot of work.

Yeah for the kimura attempt the Muay Thai guy did not rotate and put his right leg on the guy's back. You can tell something was wrong. He also did not really try to pass the half guard in the beginning.

the chinese dude sucked. The trick in fighting these yankees, they are as predictable as they come. They will use some striking then try to finish on the ground, using BJJ or some other choke, arm breaker hold.
Learn some basics of your opponent before facing them dude. And learn some ground work, do some weight training so you wont be drained at the end. You can have better technique all you want but if youre drained, youre done.

wow, I can't believe you picked that up! Yeah, "Buakaw" the code the Black Tiger coach uses! I think its for either a push kick or a hook kick. They use codes like "Coban" and "Kaoklai" for specific combinations and tactics.
