christians say cloning is wrong. ignorant god botherers.
jews are stupid, better not make a pig clone to make em mad ^_^
just like that story in the news, piggybanks were banned, by whom? the stupid gay killers. i think its the jews who hate gays i might be mistaken :/.....well.....fuck em anyway.
Okay I'm a little confused sorry im not ery good at this subject I wasn't expecting a giant cloning machine but let me get this straight they grabbed a nucleas from another cell in a sheeps body and put it in the egg right? And did that one come out EXACTY like the other sheep and if done to a human doesn't that mean they'll also have the same personalitly and look?
@dgarcia889 in dolly the sheeps case there were three "mothers" the first provided the egg from which they took the nucleus out. the second "mother" of dolly the one that is being cloned, has the DNA from a regular body cell containing all chromosomes removed and put into the "empty egg" which is then transfered to the surrogate mother after developing into an embryo. in terms of physical matters the sheep will be the same. If we were to clone a person (which will never happen)
the person will not act nor have the same personality as the original, as both will go through different experiences but however they will both look the same and share the same DNA.
Precisely. It's funny when people don't realize your cloning the living being itself, not the chemical experiences in ones lifetime that make up his/her behavior - your mind and every experience and chemical process that has ever happened does not clone over. Your memories are your memories.
@maldek5 yes that seems to be the problem because it is hard to understand cloning from the point of view of a person who knows little about it... which is why im trying to help people understand. But yes you are entirely correct.
i have not seen the source of dolly the clone. i wonder if for example the source has a scar on its face, then would the clone have the same scar on its face too?
is there a technology to isolate a diploid germ cell. Then perform somatic nuclear transfer into the diploid germ cells. Induce the germ cells to undergo meiosis to produce eggs. Infertile patients caused by bone marrow transplant or chemotherapy/radiation therapy can have a chance to have their own genetic children. It would be like a regular somatic nuclear transfer, except you transfer nucleus into a germ cells before they undergo meiosis. There wouldn't be any ethical issue involved.
I can get why people are against cloning, not tampering with life and such, but for me there is a more important and reasonable explanation as to why scientist shouldn't clone humans, it's not perfect. There ARE genetic defects and until we can straighten that out we should not clone humans. Both right wing and left wing parties have agreed to this.
okay say there was this original specimen and it was cloned would the cloned specimen have all the same memories same thought same feelings and same personality as the original specimen???
if anyone know any info on this write to me or post reply...
That's actually a rather interesting thought, given that several longitudinal studies of human twins has shown that many of them lead very similar lives (down to occupation, personality, even spouses, etc.).
lol i love how you respond back to my comment and make yourself seem even more unintelligent. what u are so ignorantly posting is an opinion not a fact. & every opinion has a counter argument to it. lets say 4 example we use this new scientific breakthrough 2 end world hunger. we save millions of starving ppl & we dont have 2 go into debt donating our food. is it still wrong?NO! your opinion is one based on what must be religious beliefs. i am christian but im intelligent enough 2 see both sides
@RanmaSa0t0me well imagine if we do find a way to stop warld hunger, the human population will increase and disease will spread more easily due to social interaction, so a counter opinion to yours is that finding a way to fix world hunger is a bad idea, i'll rather let some person I don't know die than a loved one
a very good argument. there are always 2 sides to every argument and you made yours very clear. now the big decision comes down to whether or not you think the possible good out weighs the possible bad, ie is the possibility of saving millions of lives worth the risk of a epidemic later in the future. the counter can then be thrown back to you by asking "if you saw a bus load of kids about to explode would you not try and save them? even if they were sick." now it becomes a judge of character
@RanmaSa0t0me I dont know those kids, I dont know there parents, If they are in Africa and I save them some war lord might grab them and let them kill innocent people that have done nothing wrong, so where I come from I don't see the point in saving them, nothing personal to them but the chances of peace are increased. By the way you put up one of the best youtube arguments ive had in a while
@RanmaSa0t0me you would still be wasting money -_- cloning is a long rigorous process the has thousands of dollars put into it... not only will it waste money but finding the right candidates for dolly the sheep took a LONG time. research your facts before starting a debate on a topic you dont know about.
@MrTank116 lol i like your cute little face. btw i'd like you to do something for me smart guy. look at when i posted that it was 7 months ago. talk about beating a dead horse just dig this fucker out of the grave and beat it lmao. research how to use youtube before you respond to me kid. you're making yourself look foolish. now i await your childish remark (that will avoid the fact that you responded to a 7month old comment) about how awesome you are for "researching" dolly the sheep. lol
@RanmaSa0t0me i couldnt resist the cute face lol im not even a smart guy hahahaha i think its funny when someone with COMMON SENSE is called smart... the only reason i replied to your "7 month old" comment is because it is thumbed up when it obviously shouldnt be, but thats just my opinion so you can say what you want. but im making a fool out of myself because i replied to an old comment? you act as if i will be repremanded for doing somthing stupid ON THE INTERNET. i have friends offline lol.
If we cloned all the animal that we use for are food would peta still bitch and wine about the animal being killed. The most reason why we don't clone humans is probably religious reasons. But if we could figure a way we could feed alot of poor people.
I don't see any practical reason why anyone should be against cloning, but I see tons of practical applications for cloning. Applications that could save lives.
i really dont see any problem with animal cloning, and if they stricly regulated human cloning i guess i wouldnt have a problem with that either, but i could see how human cloning could be abused by the military though, as long as it used for medical purposes only i think id be a great idea
i totally agree with cloning even if any disagrees with cloning there doing it anyway!! even if they are gonna clone a human do actually think that the government will tell us! fuck no so fuck you guys!!

ZURITROY13, the specie that was cloned would not possess the same memories or personality. These qualities are psychological, not genetic.
nzkiwi15 2 years ago 13
@nzkiwi15 Actually, as far as I've heard, about 50% of a person's or animal's personality is inheritted from the parents.
