Unlike traditional plant breeding, GMO seeds can be 'transgenic', which means that biotech companies violently penetrate the species DNA barrier to combine genes from two different species.

It is simple: since this technology comprises health safety risks, GMO-based foods should be labeled, like they are in the EU. If they are so great, then the biotech companies should be proud that they appear on the label.

We all have the right to know what we are eating.

Kofi Annan has recently said that GM foods are not the answer for hunger in third world countries. Moving genes between species may result in an intended outcome, but also in unintended outcomes. If you don't look for adverse effects they will not be found. With no labelling how can you say that no adverse effects are present?? Where is the trail??
