That would be interesting if that really happened. That parking garage is the Jefferson Square Parking Garage in Columbia, SC, which looks like it will collapse any moment.
I couldn't believe how sweet that take was, and how much coordination and orchestration something like that takes. Were guys just passing the camera around?
Actually, yes. We had the camera hanging from a set a handlebars. Two guys would run along accept for when passed onto a crane that would lift/lower a person from each level. The shot is so discombobulating that when the bad guy takes the stairwell on one level, when he reaches the top to jump out at Bacon, he is actually at the other end of the parking deck.We used a photo double for the guy that busts out at the end. Very cool.
@ryandocflash Sweet! My first thought was to attach the camera to a crane passing it to another guy at the other level but you actually lifted the camera and the guy controlling it too! :-)
Not really but they considered the risk before they did it. They decided to leave it there and deal with having to pay for the van that was originally a rental.
i loved that movie, it was epic!

was that the same day they filmed the extremely long take in the garage?
davemcgaha 4 years ago
No, that scene in the garage took an entire day to set up and shoot. I mean, that's all we did. This was the day after...

Yeah I would love to work on a set like that. Even if I got paid little to nothing for it.
