I like how u can hear the defect detector box saying " Norfolk Southern, Milepost 225.9, Track 2, No Defects." Im guessing u used a scanner to hear that and catch the trains right?
I always say I'm gonna stop at Tyrone for the day when I go out on my PITL trips to the west slope...and I still don't know why I havn't done it yet. ALMOST did it last summer, ALMOST...then we chased a 265 roadrailer instead and forgot to come back! DAMN!
Yea, WAYYY too often. Got caught up in the moment a few good times during that particular trip, that blue/UP/UP 82E chase to the curve immediately comes to mind... Haha, but seriously, you should have seen my buddy backing out of an NS access road at close to 40 mph when that 265 caught us off guard, it was hilarious yet incredible at the same time, considering the road was as wide as his Lumina
22W ballsed it pass you, good to see some 70Ms out and about. 422's 60M had a nicely tuned RS3L and the engine sounded great. Interesting sounding K5 on C51. Very nice job Eric, well have to make a trip up this summer!
It is a great spot, and about 25 minutes out from Altoona. So you can spend a day here and the next on the slopes, or both, if you like to travel. :-)
I'm definitely going back. CSX Sand Patch is a spot you cannot miss either.
2 Main tracks here plus the Nittany and Bald Eagle/NS interchange tracks behing me. It goes to 3 Main tracks at CP Gray just mile or so west of here. Traffic is thick, this was only over the course of about an hour/hour and a half.
Great angle and a good dose of trains for someone that has not been able to go watch them for a while due to being sick. Nice one!

I like how I use EMDs alot on this line. I was there for Railfest back in July and nearly every train had a SD70M-2.
