So if i know good it can be mounted the Corsair CH100 right? My MAIN question would be what do you think in witch case shoukd i buy the CH 100, in this one (Corsair R400), OR Enermax Hoplite??
@hope00hope Well since it is a corsair cooler it will fit with no problem in the corsair case. Also the h100 has standard mounts for 120 fans so it should fit in the hoplite as well as long as the case doesn't have different mounts wich i think it doesn't.
Im ordering this as part of my spec from pcspecialist but im really worried with dust coming in through the top and sides. I dont particularly want to be fiddling with screws from the inside of the case, as im a novice, and am wanting to know what the best way is to attach an aluminum 140mm filter to the outside. Any help?
I'm going to buy this case pretty soon. I was thinking of an option to mount a dust filter on the side panel. Because of the panel shape you won't be able to use an internal filter so I'm either going to use an external dual 140mm magnetic filter (if I find one) or two 140mm magnetic filters from DEMCiflex. It should do the job. Cool thing is if you're using socket 2011 I think you can easily mod the right panel to fit a fan over there for aditional cooling.
great review. this guy seriously needs to team up with paul with newegg reviews. that othe guy doing case reviews just suuuuuucks! this guy knows how to do a proper review!!! i swear man you should hit up newegg and show them this video maybe you can get a job reviewing products or somthing. thats be awesome
Great review, great case! It looks like it has great cooling, and indeed the cable management looks amazing. To me this looks like a great case for it's price tag.
Hey HardwareCanucks, I'm thinking of getting this case for my brother's build. However, here is my question: Which CPU heatsink did you use and what are its dimensions? How far was it from the left side panel? This would give me an idea as to which CPU heatsink I can look into, as well as its dimensions. Thanks!
@MrAvatar9999 Do you know how to measure space with a measuring device? Why don't you take the measurements of your MOBO you intend to buy and compare it to the size this case will allow? Wow, I hope you don't breed
I like this Corsair 400R mid-tower case ... just 2 things I'd like to change:
1. I'd prefer a window side panel.
2. I'd like to be able to remove the hard drive thing (or half of it) to have a pair of 7990's when they come out and a fan to maximize air flow over the GPU's.
Yeah, I'm really excited for the next gen 32nm gpus from AMD. I plan to have two 7970 crossfired in this case. I found this website that seems to show some legit specs for the next gen graphics cards, but I don't think I'm allowed to display URL's on Youtube for others to see.
@Pixel4tion i would ofc remove the popbits.... i mount hd and ssd in 5.25 bay and remove cage and have direct airflow to gpu/cpu, so if the fans are not connected to the bay this might be a very good case for me :p
@rationalbeing I still dont think its as sexy as the 600t, and you dont have to get the window on the 600t, you're blowing things out of the water a little bit.. lol
@rationalbeing None of Corsair's cases were ugly IMO. The 800D and the 650D are the sexiest cases known to man. I really like the side window because the side mesh really doesn't do all that much TBH.
How come there isn't a female reviewing the case, when all I see are feminine looking hands and arms touching the case. Not that the male narrator has any problems or issues with his voice. Just saying, it would be very great listening and viewing experience :O. But in general this is a nice looking case.
Dimitry, there is nothing wrong with the way you speak brother. I did find it a little hard to understand the first few sentences in this vid though, might be cause (I think) you may have been rushing when speaking. ;).
Best corsair case i've seen to date, mostly because of it's price, but also because I have a 690 II and this case looks like it was meant to be a 690 II killer. I definitely want this case now but i'll probably keep my 690 II because need>want.
Wow... This is the only case I have ever seen under $100 which I think will rival the 690 II. Great job by Corsair, looks like an amazing case. I will probably continue to use my 690 II since I am a cheap bastard but if any friends need a build I'll buy this for them for sure.
not to be rude - but get a person that speaks clearly especially when making a report to the consumer .. not everyone can understand such an accent -- even a British accent can be bothersome especially those with a thick accent ... his delivery about the contents was well done - if one could understand it .. I had to mentally compensate to decipher - comprehend - evaluate - all at the same time before what is actually said .. otherwise a good report .. MHO ..
@you166mhz So what you have basically said is - I can't understand a true Englishman, or, in fact, anyone but an American from my part of the country.
I am British, I can understand people from all areas of my own country, from all over America, Australia, all over Europe, and any other English speaking person. This wasn't difficult to understand and was very clear
Optional 10 fans? wtf. Its optional 8. You cant count the graphics card and cpu. Then you whould have to say optional 12 fans at least. It's still difficult to understand some of what this guy says...a little to much of an accent when he speaks...This new edition from Corsair looks very nice, they seem to be incorporating many of the quality features that enthusiast builders are looking for in a PC case. Would like to see an option for a side panel window along with a few color options...Corsair is doing a great job since entering the PC case segment.
@DieselCat18 Is that so? I welcome all comments regarding my reviews, as i always want to improve. :DD but please, be constructive when criticizing, otherwise its useless! :DD
@P3RuLeS except the 922 is shit. poor cable management, 1 intake 1 exhaust, and the inside isnt even painted, thanks id rather have a quality product from corsair.
@Dimitry49 i was just wondering xD because you have your own channel and you havent updated it in a while :( are you still going to be doing reviews for your own channel?
@AndrewHume1 I have the 690 IIand it's a brilliant case. I think it's more classy than this one too. This one is probably the most confortable in terms of cable management, but I find it a little ugly.
@Megadeth6633 hmm, I don't really have a preference on looks, they are each good looking in their own way, but I think I'll take the 690, the white one looks AWESHUM!!!!!11
CM690 II still has the sata hard drive dock at the top which this case does not. It's very useful for backups which is why my builds will still stick to the CM 690 II.
We're starting to get too many cases, much like they're doing with the power supplies. All these low end GS power supplies, low end gawdy looking cases. I know it's being done to hit price segments, but it's starting to cheapen things too much.
Very Nice looking case. I just spent a little over $50.00 on a case and then another $40.00 soon to be $55.00 on fans.... I'm very happy with the case and the way it's set up (thermalriht V3 if you're wondering), but if I'd thought it through might have gone with something a little more expensive from the start...

with the EASILY removable dust filters, Id rate this BETTER than the Cm690 2 Adv. tbh, alot of the 690 2 was made out of after thought, the front filter is agony to clean, the PSU filter requires you to remove the PSU to clean that.. and the TOP filter is a pita to clean too, I wouldnt buy a 690 2 again if i had the money, id look into something else
There is no out-sourcing going on here in any way. The "old guy" decided to get on with other plans in his life and we're now using Dimitry. The content hasn't changed in any way since the scripts are still pretty much the same. The only difference now is that the reviews can be finished in 7 days instead of 7 weeks. To the watchers of our Youtube channel, this means the same quality along with the quantity everyone was asking for. :) :)
@Koldness99 Yes You're right. All Antec cases suck. That's what you meant right? Cooler Master has been making better cases that cost less for the past several years. Antec has fallen behind if you ask me. They make a few nice cases but wow did they ever drop the ball so many times on cases like the Nine Hundred with shitty wire management and HD bays that take 10 years to change a HD. There are a lot of brands who make nicer cases. Seriously a PC case fanboy... wow now I've seen it all.
@MN12BIRD Have you ever owned an antec case? I have one and I wouldn't trade it for nothing. It's the best performer I have ever seen and it has everything I could possibly need. So stop trollin
@NOXXism I'm not trolling I'm just responding to someone else who was! I don't hate Antec. Yes I've owned 3 Antec cases. I really liked the few NSK series I had back in the day and I bought a Three Hundred a few years ago. It was a great case considering it cost $60 or less. You can see 2 Antec cases in my older vids so it's not like I'm going to lie. But they're hardly the be all and end all these days. There's lots of great cases from many brands.
@Koldness99 OMFG You're miss understanding my point. I've never said Antec sucks. I only said that above as a sarcastic response to you saying everything else sucks! I've owned 3 Antec cases over the years and I liked them all! They also have great Power Supplies. I know this. My point was simply that there are MANY great cases out there from MANY great brands. There are many cases I would pick over a current Antec but that doesn't mean I think Antec sucks! I like Antec just fine thanks.
@thedingdoeatyourbaby fyi, for all you guys wondering about the old guy (FixT), he PM'ed me awhile ago, I thought he would comment on one of these videos but he didnt. Basically he got laid off by the company that owns HWC and they hired this guy who works for free so they could make more money. oh and def wait for the 500R its goina be the shiz
I'm happy I didn't wait getting my 600T. I like this one but I love my 600T much better. I wish I could find a USB 3.0 motherboard front panel header cable though :(
@radiovan1 We're currently looking into doing a 500R review. Up next will be a BitFenix Shinobi followed by another Lian Li and possibly a Silverstone. Dimitry will also start doing some feature videos (not in depth reviews, for those, go to our site) that show off some interesting water coolers and some custom cooled graphics cards. He'll be a very busy guy and this channel will get some much-needed life. :)
I am a owner of the 800D but I have to say Corsair have ever since their first case not made any case that have impressed me, their midtower version of the obsidian series for example 650D is very cluttered, why couldn´t they made it look as sleek as the 800D, I know the case have to have a fan in the front but couldn´t they make vent holes at the side instead? And why have those doorpanel opener at the sides? Looks buttugly. And this Carbide 400R, looks like a coolermaster ripoff.
So if i know good it can be mounted the Corsair CH100 right? My MAIN question would be what do you think in witch case shoukd i buy the CH 100, in this one (Corsair R400), OR Enermax Hoplite??

a) not ugly as hell
b) 8 pci slots
c) 6 3.5" bays instead of 4 or 5
d) innovative thumb screws
e) no dumb side pannel window
f) good # and good quality included fans
g) usb 3 mobo headers instead of passthru ugly blue wires
h) plenty of room for full sized even 12" gpus!
This is the case to buy, now!

Megadeth6633 6 months ago
@Megadeth6633 hmm, I don't really have a preference on looks, they are each good looking in their own way, but I think I'll take the 690, the white one looks AWESHUM!!!!!11

CM690 II still has the sata hard drive dock at the top which this case does not. It's very useful for backups which is why my builds will still stick to the CM 690 II.

ugly as hell
Moneyman462 6 months ago
Wow, way to copy directly from Cooler Master, and it probably costs 3 times more than a Cooler Master.
Vortex1988 6 months ago
We're starting to get too many cases, much like they're doing with the power supplies. All these low end GS power supplies, low end gawdy looking cases. I know it's being done to hit price segments, but it's starting to cheapen things too much.

Very Nice looking case. I just spent a little over $50.00 on a case and then another $40.00 soon to be $55.00 on fans.... I'm very happy with the case and the way it's set up (thermalriht V3 if you're wondering), but if I'd thought it through might have gone with something a little more expensive from the start...

with the EASILY removable dust filters, Id rate this BETTER than the Cm690 2 Adv. tbh, alot of the 690 2 was made out of after thought, the front filter is agony to clean, the PSU filter requires you to remove the PSU to clean that.. and the TOP filter is a pita to clean too, I wouldnt buy a 690 2 again if i had the money, id look into something else
bloodreighn 6 months ago
There is no out-sourcing going on here in any way. The "old guy" decided to get on with other plans in his life and we're now using Dimitry. The content hasn't changed in any way since the scripts are still pretty much the same. The only difference now is that the reviews can be finished in 7 days instead of 7 weeks. To the watchers of our Youtube channel, this means the same quality along with the quantity everyone was asking for. :) :)

@Koldness99 your posting rights should be removed...
plg220 6 months ago

MN12BIRD 6 months ago
@MN12BIRD yep that explains why antec cases sell the most and have the highest satisfaction ratings
dumbass
Koldness99 6 months ago
@Koldness99 OMFG You're miss understanding my point. I've never said Antec sucks. I only said that above as a sarcastic response to you saying everything else sucks! I've owned 3 Antec cases over the years and I liked them all! They also have great Power Supplies. I know this. My point was simply that there are MANY great cases out there from MANY great brands. There are many cases I would pick over a current Antec but that doesn't mean I think Antec sucks! I like Antec just fine thanks.

This is the first Corsair case that I don't really like. I'm pretty much set on the 650D right now.

@c0dead Yeah Lancool has some REALLY nice cases without paying that Lian Li premium.

AgentHydra 6 months ago
I'm sorry but Corsair has some ugly ass cases. i like the voice of the guy that did the review for the PC-K62.

I'm happy I didn't wait getting my 600T. I like this one but I love my 600T much better. I wish I could find a USB 3.0 motherboard front panel header cable though :(
BustedController 6 months ago
Very nice case Corsair; Looking forward to the 500R review. :)
radiovan1 6 months ago
@radiovan1 We're currently looking into doing a 500R review. Up next will be a BitFenix Shinobi followed by another Lian Li and possibly a Silverstone. Dimitry will also start doing some feature videos (not in depth reviews, for those, go to our site) that show off some interesting water coolers and some custom cooled graphics cards. He'll be a very busy guy and this channel will get some much-needed life. :)
SKYMTL 6 months ago
@SKYMTL Well, Dimitry is doing a fine job, so I am looking forward to all the reviews HWC can throw our way - never mind the nay-sayers.
radiovan1 6 months ago
I am a owner of the 800D but I have to say Corsair have ever since their first case not made any case that have impressed me, their midtower version of the obsidian series for example 650D is very cluttered, why couldn´t they made it look as sleek as the 800D, I know the case have to have a fan in the front but couldn´t they make vent holes at the side instead? And why have those doorpanel opener at the sides? Looks buttugly. And this Carbide 400R, looks like a coolermaster ripoff.
