Not sure why folks would hate this thing so much. Yes it doesn't move like a natural spider, but given how it's built, a lot of that movement wouldn't be possible. To me it's an art piece, nothing wrong with it. Besides if a real spider were that big, it wouldn't move like your common house spider. It would trundle around more like a tarantula.

you know what this thing needs? to be able to move without the vehicle strapped to it, make it a little bit bigger so it could hold all of the wiring and such inside of it, give it a cockpit and make it to where it can be controlled by 3 to 4 people, slap some gun turrets onto it and you got yourself a very scary war machine!

If this robot spider was computer-controlled, it would be so much more realistic in its movements , faster, and without the 12 or so guys controlling it, hope all the engineers are working on this, (maybe Japanese engineers) can you imagine a real spider that size coming down the street, wow very scary :) ,
