@Subtokyo i gota learn japanese in 6 months u think it's possible i know NUTHING im goin to japanese drift meets in 6 months so i wana atleast learn abit
Thanks for the very handy guide on how to pronounce it accurately =) And I finally learned how to say "you're welcome" in Japanese, besides Domo. Thanks Alex!
Thanks for your recommendation Alex! I went ahead and purchased the book that you mentioned " let's learn hiragana." I believe it will help me learn the basics and have fun understanding the language. I would like to go off the subject and comment on your recent video about the giant gundam in Shizuoka. When I first saw that statue in the video, I was amazed and" blown away" by the craftsmanship that went into building it. Once again " arigatou gozaimasu,"and god bless Japan: )
" Thanks for the lesson, your tutorial is very well laid out and easy to understand."
I would like to go more in depth on the Japanese language and also want learn the characters. Any suggestions on where to find a good learning material without spending a fortune?
@cylonj7337 thank you! Umm I'm sure you can find plenty of free material online to start learning Japanese, if you want something more organized you can probably pick up some handy books to begin learning Japanese characters. I forgot to mention this, but I've written a basic Japanese learning comic book type book with another person, it goes over the basics. You can get the book at my website, under the print comics section. its called "lets learn hiragana" :)
Hey Alex, just wanted to know, usually when I'm in Japan, I hear young folks or people who know each other more use "ohayou" only, but isn't it more polite or common to say "おはようございます。"? (ohayou gozaimasu) Since "ohayou" would be more like "Mornin!" and the later would be "Good morning". I'm still learning the basics so I might be wrong! じゃあ!
@RurouniHeero no, you're absolutely right. "おはようございます" (ohayou gozaimasu) is a polite or more formal manner of saying good morning. I'll probably do a segment on formal speech and greetings, With stuff like Ohayou Gozaimasu, Arigatou Gozaimasu, Yoroshiku Onegaishimasu, and that type of stuff :D
I think a lesson on how to order things in a restaurant would be nice, and since this channel covers subculture, vocabulary and information about maid other themed cafes would be interesting.
Nice video :) While it doesn't really apply to this video, for other phrases it would be nice to hear you say them in a full sentence, just so we can hear how you say them when spoken faster :P
@EuricaeriS yes of course, I'll get into that slow and steady. I'll be showing you guys simple sentence structure and layout so you can make your own fun custom sentences :) and I'll do more demonstrations of me speaking at normal speed then! Thanks for always watching XD
@Jaerad333 That black FMA book is the first "art of Fullmetal Alchemist" book, great artbook, available in the US (which is where I got it) The little box on top of my PSP box is a box that had a Edward Keychain in it.
Wow, im gonna subscribe because this was actually pretty good.

For both good morning & good evening, there's a Kanji for it. There isn't a Kanji for good afternoon/hello
Good morning
ひらがな-おはよう
漢字-お早う
Good evening
ひらがな-こんばんは
漢字-今晩は
