I remember watching this happen from my flat in Beadnell walk... I think, after all I was only 6 or something lol

Loved the village, think most kids did.... you don't notice how bad things around you are.

It does not say what the problems were although of course one can guess. A pity as those who had north, east and west facing views must have really appreciated it!
