This happened on my first day of school too, the sirens went off and it rained for about an hour, EVEN the school's lights went out!... they classified it as a "microburst" but it was damn scary. LOL one of our principals got fired for how he took action that day... the school got put on lockdown.
hah i remember this half of a tree fell on my brothers car and it was 4 days after he got it. luckily it was only a few dents but it wasnt insured at the time since he didnt get his plates lol

i was out playing baseball with my friends in carol stream IL and then a flash of lightning hit like 100 ft from us and it started pouring then the tornadoe sirens went off an a tornado hit 3 minutes a way from my house
one thing the news didn't mention much was the lightning. i live in in the elgin area (northern burbs) and lightning struck like 20 things within a half mile radius. i swear that was the worst lightning i've ever seen. over and over again it struck so close.
AROUND 4 or 3 i was walking home and just reached my drive way and it was drizzling and when i got inside i turned the tv on it wasnt working im like shit then i just see a garbage can flying out of no where hit my dads car :o
i was in cedar lake west of chicago i was on my bike and iw as riding adn i loked and i saw the black clouds and someone behind me screeam "is that a tornadao" im likw holy crap so i was about to cry lol

Reminds me of the T-storm on August 25, 2007 in Springfield, Vermont.
There was close lightning bolts and one sounded like it struck somewhere in the town limits.
