@caper900 Huh. Nothing Romantic or sentimental about that. No sailing off into the sunset, to live happily ever after, just TORN TO PIECES FOR SCRAP METAL!!!!! well maybe we'll see a piece of either of them one day sent back in a box of straw with some piece of crap in the dollar store. I guess there's also a certain amount of damage & erosion with banging into slob ice & corrosion of salt water for 24 years. too bad. Funny how you can get attached to something like a couple of boats.
i was on both j/c and the caribou. i remember on one of them the phenonomenal historic display of old uniforms, museum relics, glass cases with local historical artifacts etc. if that cheap lousey piece of mass produced foreign made garbage crap movie camera did'nt break because its made to break in the first place did'nt break, i would have some great movies of all that today. but that lousey piece of crap broke! anyways, nice video.
i agree i was there last summer and took the Blue Putis and the Vision on the way back and i definatly was not immpressed. The Caribou and the JC where the best by far!
What a sad end for this wonderful ship. Took her to NL, comfy, warm, a wonderful trip. Came back to NS on Atlantic Vision, a beautiful trip, but a party boat. No comfortable passenger seating we could find, just a lounge. Business, as usual.
im gonna miss her. she was my favorite ferry for this trip. always felt safe on her no matter what the weather. and yet they retired her and the smallwood but kept the "tin can". not too sure what they were thinking. lol
can't count all the good times I've had on the caribou. ever since she was new until today I've been on her a few times every year. very well built and reliable ship I hope she finds a good home.
Where are both those ships docked today anyways?

The Caribou was a hell of a lady! I'd take her over the Puttees or Highlanders any day! Caribou love baby!

I'll miss her! When I boarded her last summer I didn't realize that it'd be my last time. She's more reliable than the Ericson in my opinion.

@WildstormWarrior I miss her too! I'm looking forward to boarding either the MV Blue Puttees or the MV Highlanders some time this summer.
