But to compare a single player game to a MMORPG with about 1000000 more hours of gameplay is just silly! Cmon now! @Xellos357 eh, I think as long as you can tell what you're looking at, the graphics are passable. The only way they CAN'T be saved, in my opinion, is if there are no discernible shapes, no way to tell what you're looking at.
And there's no real problem with expired graphics, either. I'll never understand the gamer's obsession with graphics over game.
If only the actual game play mechanics looked just as smooth as the movements the toon makes when casting a spell. In PVP the characters look like they're running like chickens with the heads cut off.
@8319111 if it's anything like GW1 all the graphics in the world wont save it! I've seen the videos for GW2 my best friend is obsessed!To be fair it looks great and the fact that it's going to be less instanced and more seamless is GREAT!but these graphics are FAR from sucking balls dude! Don't judge the video, which looks amazing still. but try to make a toon and zoom in on the cloth every piece of fabric is perfectly rendered! The game is oozing with amazing graphics 8 years later!
some of those spell effects were pretty cool. the ones where you changed to something else were kind of jarring. cause it's like one frame you were a person and the next frame you were floating balls..
Its a nice demo, EQ2's strength in graphics is the high detail imo, if you zoom right in there is a lot of detail on characters, right down to the face and eyeballs animated properly.
Still, since this was released shader 3.0 was added working fairly well, and there are new upgrades in the new expansion, its a growing game :)
@arconegro I have two rigs for this, the desktop is a phenonII 955 3.2Ghz with a ATI 4870, its on extreme all the time, a couple of zones slow it down though. The laptop is a 2.4Ghz Core 2 duo, 4 Gigs of ram and a HD2600 graphics card (a little weaker then a 8600), there I run on high settings but no shadows pretty well (20-30 FPS, a few zones tax it). I would guess your system would be working about there - medium to high, with a proper desktop GPU you might get GPU shadows.
Wwaaooow! Very nice! i got a station all access and intended to play some vanguard and planetside. But im switching to eq2 to look at this grafiks. eq2 is huuuuuuge
compared to what is out now like rift and SWTOR this game looks so budget. how can you sit and play this for more then an hour with out laughing.

The story here is that no matter how the graphics look, the GAME is what matters. Sure, aesthetically pleasing scenery is great and all, but if the game itself is bad, you can't fix it.

Eq2's graphics were oudated the day they came out lol, They were never anything incredible and took way too much resources(back then) to handle.
And yes that is a Conjuror, the illusions, the pet, the self rune stone thing etc... Definitely a conjuror(mage/Summoner)
