Yeah that's what made em so tight back in the day, he talked about real shit, and he spit hard, I didn't like relapse because he talked about being molested by his step dad and he raps with with 50 cent, arguably one of the worst rappers on the planet. Asher is very talented and a great rapper but his new album was whack. A few good songs but he's young and doesn't have great material yet, but they don't have similar styles, just similar voices and skin.

I think you are crazy, ash is a great emcee. He brought it back to the times of krs-one, mc Shan, Marley Marl, shock G, etc. They made songs about what they knew and kept everything on vinyl. They also made songs to uplift the people. Naw I stand corrected on roth. He and Kanye are both very talented lyricists. They both have something in common though. Both grew up in the real deal raw underground scene but for their mainstream pop hits they water down their style tremendously. Probably more so than any other mainstream emcees I've heard. Compared to what they're capable of writing it's kinda crazy. for example roth's verses on this tripe above vs. his mixtape stuff. kanye's verses on any of his older stuff vs. 808s album.
