  • who gives a shit about america fuck america

  • sponsored by all those lovely oil companies^^

    Lovely...

  • this smells like... bearshit.

  • Wow - never underestimate the stupidity of the American public. Anybody who buys this tripe is a moron. Even if the oil companies could drill right now, they wouldn't since the price of oil is low.

Its all about one thing - the Oil Industry protecting its profits.

  • You'd believe it would have an immediate impact on gas prices if you knew anything about economics. Strap in, here's a lesson:

The first thing is to know that oil prices are governed by supply and demand. Know that. There's one thing you're right about, the oil won't come to the market for a couple of years. But because of its impact on oil prices in the future, drilling offshore would cause current oil producers to change their pumping decisions right now. Why? Because if a bunch more oil is

  • going to come online, you'd want to sell as much oil as you can right now at the high price.

Of all the dumb shit Bush has done, one thing he got right was getting rid of the executive ban in July. Since then, gas prices have dropped drastically (now under $100/barrel)...all because US offshore drilling could suddenly become a reality, and OPEC got going on producing. Class dismissed.

  • hey qerplonk, how much longer would you say that oil prices will increase? well would you agree that irregardless of how much oil can be refined, given normal conditions, we can expect prices to increase.. if not double or triple within a decade or so. not intending to commit the fallacy of causation but, prices have have been doubling for quite some time now and i'm betting that it will continue to do so for at least a few more decades!(though we are all crossing our fingers...)

  • Wow, this is complete bullshit.

"That's the wrong approach," because we say it is, not because experts know offshore drilling won't have an immediate impact on anyone but those who stand to profit from it.

Some old PR fogey thought this would become viral...
