  • @swordsofmight What song is this??

  • @AvatarTeam11 Some one??

  • May I ask what song this is???

  • @swordsman102002 yes I agree. @MrTheking350 RESPECT him or I'll teach you to respect. @swordsofmight Forgive my intrusion but I can't help but notice the neck of the blade is a little flawed. Sorry

  • he's not a swordsman, he's just a owner of that katana

  • Why did my sword have some kind of greasy stuff on it when i opened it?

  • @gameterrain -It's tthe same thing as when you purchase a new firearm, there should be a thin film of "BREAK-FREE" gun-oil to keep the rust away, same thing for packed swords...SOOOO, RELAX....The GREASY film on the sword is a good thing....!

  • What music is this????

  • you need to learn some technique so u can properly demonstrate the cuting try kendo, kenjutsu whatever.

  • Also switch your lead foot to the back! General rule is your right hand is near tsuba in front so your right foot should step forward then cut.

  • beautiful tsuba, but FAIL PUTTING ENGLISH LETTERS ON A KATANA. >;\

  • wrong leg

  • the cheaper tamagane katana thati've seem cost 3500 and never i saw one under 3000, if that is true shere me the websde where i can get it, and katanas come from japon no from other places, thare are very nice katanas but you cannot say that is a autentic one.

  • is very stupid to hear people who say that sword is fake becuase is not hand made and they don't have the traditional methos of forge come on people don't be fool you guys can be smart than that, all the sword come from china and korea , you can say that they come from japon so you won't have a tamagane katana you should be happy to get a cas, mushasi, munetoshi and feel than you hace a katana ok don't be fool and don't make stupid comment!!! this sword is fine for stupid kids like your.

  • @MrTheking350 Japan, not japon and Musashi, not mushasi. Please, RESPECT the swordsman and the sword

  • i know what is japan and japon but well i just want to say japon becuase for me is the same word, on english is japan , spanish japon i don't care what you can think or even say ok thank you what i said is true.

  • wow i can't believe than there are alot of stupidity in here , real katanas for 700? wow that is the more stupid comment than i've to hear ion all my fucking life, first real katanas comes from japan and they are made with tamagane steel, second the price of these swords are very high like 10 thousand to 25 dllr. you should be happy having something close to a katana , becuase in fact they are real becuase they are made with steel, you can kill someone either way.

  • @MrTheking350 To be honest, not all katana's cost $10k, thats probably only if you buy from a big name swordsmith. Some tamahagane katanas go for no less than $2k. And not all authentic katanas come from Japan, the only thing you need to import from Japan is the iron sand. You can make the actual sword anywhere.

  • hey swords of might I am going to buy your Masahiro Yanagi katana.

can't believe it, it was actually cheaper for me to order all the way from USA to Europe rather than using swords of the east, all thanks to SBG and their SBG coupon code :P

  • what is it you are cutting?please respond :D

  • @somethinglawls tatami mats google it ^^

  • that musashi stamp on the habaki looks really cheesy and cheap.

  • Hmm how muche did you pay for this sword???because if is was cheap like 150 or 200 its not hand Froge..and its not a Real Kattana real kattanas like 700 or more.

  • mate u dont how to use the katana. u didnt even hold it right.

  • Is the hamon true?

  • @forcephase Musashi katanas never wire brush their hamons so i believe it was made during the tempering process.

  • Seems hard to buy swords that are sharp enough to do that without you having to sharpen them further

  • swords of might............ ftw!!!!!

  • Кажется, что это обычная сувенирка...

  • no bamboo centre?

  • @mandaltby The thing he is slicing is called a Tatami Mat. They are the equivalent thickness to flesh and bone.

  • you know all musashi swords are made in china, right? None of them are actually from Japan. Still, it is pretty :)

  • I wanna eat it...

  • haha idiot you cant fight

  • tros bau supe katana ! jaime bein

  • Too bad there's no non-bohi version.

  • i love the wave pattern on the blade it is excellent

  • how heavy and how long

  • I found out tonight that my close buddy owned one for a while and I never knew about it. When he asked me if it was real, I checked it out and damn if it wasn't pretty much real. It had a real hamon, a real edge and was constructed quite well. I ended up finding out it is a high-end musashi model with a handmade iron saya- may have been an older model. This I would say if you want to be a gaijin owning a Nihonto....this is for you. I think his bro paid like 600 and gave it as a gift.

  • the sword seems to be catching too much, i think it may need to be sharpened a bit if its still in the shape its in in this video now.

  • this sword is awesome

  • What worries me, is that it might be a chinese make, and the chinese are notorious for poor swords.

You can't skimp on a Katana.

  • Well, not all Chinese made ones are bad. The company that made the Tempest is Musashi swords, they're well know for making budget swords. For the Tempest, most of the money went into the beautiful fittings, the blade's alright, clayed tempered, but just a little soft(1045 steel perhaps?), great for beginners wanting nice fittings and for collectors. You should always research before buying something. A lot Japanese made katanas(EXPENSIVE) aren't used since people fear "abusing" or damaging them.

  • @ArchWinds The blade is 1060, I thought it was 1045 also, but it's 1060. I own this sword and it's both beautiful and excellent at cutting =).

  • 3 questions: 1st question. is that a real katana? if so then awnser these questions following: Are real katanas meant to have stumps of wood through the hilt? and 2. isnt the blade of the katana meant to go through to the end of the hilt? i got my sword for 30 bucks and it has the stumps and blade of the katana isnt through the hilt. Discuss!

  • @MrWilliamb101 When you say Real Katana what are referring to? It is not Japanese made, but it is differentially tempered and polished the same way as a Nihonto(Japanese sword), the only difference is the steel. The stumps of wood are called Mekugi, and are vital to the Katana's structure. This Katana's tang(the blade hilt your referring to) is "full tang" meaning it goes all the way as such this makes it fully functional.

If you have any questions send me PM also am buying this sword!

  • y such a small tatami mat?

  • @mickkidoTV It's a beach mat, I do wonder the same thing though.

  • hey man. its idiotic to write in english on a japanese sword. i dont like it just for that reason

  • sweet! I love the detail on the tsuba

  • @phoeniximperator I know it's awesome isn't it :D

  • Pull with your hips, your cuts aren't going through properly.

  • Nice i like it how much and whered you get it?

  • @NuclearWarNinja Its $200, and for sale at swordsofmight(dot)com

  • Go eat cheeseburger fatass!

  • BEAUTIFUL sword.

  • I want that sword. Mine is a homemade katana and it breaks easily

  • looks crap

  • is there a martial art that consists the use of a katana

  • @akiliase

    kobudo pretty close

  • @akiliase of course, the most known are kendo and iaido. if i were you, id prefer kendo. its the traditional martial art sword in japan.

  • not a very clean cut probably bcuz your new...i heared it can cut nearly anything...i cant wait for my musashi to arrive..

  • Yo mann, you shouldnt cut the way your feet is. that is the wrong stance. if do not look out you will cut your own feet! be carefull man

  • lol i buy there sword for 29$ cool

  • everyone whos commenting and attempting to make rude and unnecesary critiques please stop give the guy a break hes selling his product and doing quite nicely you dont need to know a form to advertise a product.....>:(

  • i have a friend who can cut that with out making it move xD

so i gave it a try and it went every where ._. ....

    ~Alx~

  • i own a musashi very nice katana, great in the hand, i started bujikan and ive been doing jiu jitsu for about a year, once i learn to use the sword ill be stoked. stop baggin on the guy man, he's there to advertise not show off.

  • If you want a sword with a good steel blade, go for blades that are 1045 steel or higher.

  • so sick of the dicks on here - Jason knows this is a low end sword , and he knows he isnt formally trained - so get off his back , its a low end sword that many wouldnt even use to cut with - and the cock muncher who reckons stainless holds an edge better than true wootz is deluded - guess you think 420J2 or 440C is the shit eh ?

  • Fail.

  • ahh im tired of seeing people that do not know how to handle their katana in these vids!!! your stance is horrible i wouldnt even think of fighting you even if i was in a wheelchair blindfolded once again learn how to use the sword before you try to show it off thank you!!!!

  • you cant use the sword for dick! ill challenge you with a cold steel and win. lol

  • Comment removed

  • realy nice looking sword. I noticed the ray (or shark?) skin on the handle, is it real? if it is, that's realy a kick ass sword. How's it going after a few cuts? no problems, handle wrap or fittings losening?

  • That is a beautiful sword. I'm not sure that I would even cut anything with it, lest I scratch the blade. :)

  • how much ?

  • did the sword come this sharp when you bought it or did u get it touched up?

  • damascas steel is extremely sharp. as sharp as tempered steel blade.t the layers make it flexable also. but not as brittle. the layers of steel make it flexable as well.

  • but if it isnt damascas then it wont stay sharp. and i have a feeling that unless the sword is extremely expensive that it isnt . just a stainless steel blade made to look like a Katana

  • Every blade gets dull with use, even damascus blades. There are some extremely well made stainless steel that will hold its edge longer than many damascus steel katanas. ZDP189 comes to mind...

  • yes i know that.

but damascas has an amazing rigidity and flexability.

it'll hold an edge longer than most steel.

  • Nice! but undeserving name. Musashi roll in the grave. Have a nice day.

  • dude, how much does this cost? it really nice, also like the music. : ]

  • $200

  • One thing I don't like about that sword is the musashi logo above the tsuba, It doesn't look good if you want to display the sword with the saya removed.

  • y is it that every guy doing a sword review is a fat american in shorts can some one pleas tell me!!!???

  • Why is it that every idiot with a computer needs to make stupid comments that should have been kept to themselves?

  • @swordsofmight haha nice one

  • @swordsofmight thats not very nice, especially since you are trying to sell a product. Everyone is entitled to their opinion or comment.

  • @swordsofmight Its called freedom of speech. If you ever leave america and travel to the free world you ll understand what im talking about.

+ every random dude buys a katana w/o even having the decency to know the weapon before holding it.

Every aspect of respect towards history icons has been reduced to nothing because of ppl like u.

At least have the decency to know the weapon before holding it and know how to swing it.

    Study-Practice then have an opinion.

Respect the blade for it to respect u

  • @swordsofmight yeah that's not really a stupid comment you fag, that's actually a great point. Why? Tell me.

  • @swordsofmight He has a point...lol

  • @swordsofmight idk. what i do know, is that i wear long pants, and i may be doing a video of swords, so his assumption is null and void.

please don't listen to the immaturity that streams into the internet. btw, i am really liking the products on your site.

  • Where did you buy the rolled mat that you are cutting, I also like the little stand you made very cool.

For now Im just practicing my swings, but I got to get me some of that rolled bamboo, grass what is it, please do tell.

  • @fade616 por que todos estan igual gordos

  • @fade616 Well that's easy most of these guys are mommas boys that never grew up and fantasize about being a samurai in feudal japan, all the while living in mommy and daddy's garage.

  • @fade616 cause you watch nothing but youtube videos other than that no

  • @fade616 cause he lives in a country where food was once a scarcity is now an abundant source but you would be ignorant of such things because you were probably brought up in the ass end of god's green and blue earth

  • You should change the angle of your cuts, you're not going in perpendicular to the surface and your twisting the blade, making unclean cuts.

  • Thanks for your input.

  • @swordsofmight also, watch that stance. you're leaning too far forward at the end of it. Hips, not back!

  • In the cutting test he cuts only a tatami, yes?

  • If you can not affort a Tamahagane blade buy one bainite katana they are real swords for cut, practice even self defence.

  • Dont we all miss the good ol days when these were what faught wars and they only lasted like a day and it was always clear who the winner and loser was?

  • nice sword

  • A gorgeous katana, the tsuba is a great size, the kashira is an unusual (but my much preferred) rounded style with the tempest motif, and the hamon is beautiful. Try rolling a few of the mats together for a little added stability so they don't bend like that; they're notoriously flexible.

  • I agree and thanks for the comment :)

  • i'd buy it if it weren't for the ban over here...

  • What would you rate it?

  • The sword? I woul say 7/10. We carry many quality blades and for the price, it is very nice.

  • What katanas would you reccomend at the same price range?

  • Any from Chen or Musashi as in this range, they mostly have the same statistics.

  • would you recommend ryumon in the same price range

  • thats a nice katana!

  • i want it, it looks so cool

  • man i wish i could get that

  • good god its beautiful
