  • I really like this one, but he has not a dvd player. That sucks!

  • Under heavy load It is true about the fan noise on the dm3 / amd version, the fan is still not able to be heard over the laptop speakers, however, if it is a concern to anyone, intel chipset version is much more quiet then the amd - BUT im not sure it comes with the radeon video set =( if it did i would have bought the intel version.

  • @PantheraLeo205

I read on this Norwegian hardware site that it's quite silent until you put some heavy load on it. Looks like a good buy.

  • ya mines to

  • the dm3 replaced my desktop, specs on my 3 year desktop; 1gig ram, 80 gig hd, 128megs video, 1.6ghz 32bit AMD single core. i dont buy a new computer everytime something better comes out, but for my needs this laptop replaces my old desktop in every aspect. DM3 specs; 1.6ghz AMD 64bit duelcore, 4gigs ram, 512megs dedicated video, (for some reason the box says 128megs video, but after running a 3d benchmark the specs came back reading 512 physical dedicated graphics memory???) HDMI output is nice!

  • got it for $350 at walmart , last item in stock that day

  • are u serious man? did you really get it for $350? Any coupons or something?

  • yeah i got mine for 498$ at wal mart right befor christmas, it was the last one they had also. great price even at retail, of course i wish i could have picked mine up for 350! great buy man!

  • wow, my aunt got it for about $599 at Sam's Club store last week

by the way, what can you say about the quality ?

  • I have a question, what can you say about the quality ?

  • the build qulity feels very good, it feels and looks like it should cost alot more =D

  • notebooks or net-books touch pad positioning must be on right corner i don't understand that laptop manufactures y they don't try something new that easily accessible area with wrist pain

  • wow great computer.

  • VERY nice looking keyboard

  • @cartwolf in the U.S. - it was on sale at Walmart stores for that price. Still very pleased with this machine.

  • btw, which one is better? this notebook (especially: HP DM3-1028tx -->look at d specs) with HP ENVY 13 or 15??

  • Which laptop do you think is better, this (the DM3) or the Mini 311?

  • the touchpad is a pain. first of all its mirror. so it gets fingerprints like crazy. since its smooth, you don't really get any kind of grit feel, or kind of texture that helps prevent slipping. also, its supposably bad functioning.

  • i would agree i dont care much for the mousepad but i never actually use it unless i forget my mouse at home =/

  • erg i mean touchpad lol

  • the keys are too big, too fat i think, n ya it does look cheap. i saw this at our walmart sooo not that that really means anything but yeap

  • i got the Toshiba T135-S1309, its awsome, of course a better touch pad, but now im wondering if i should have gotten this...

  • no i think you made the right choice, i saw that one at best buy, looks better definately

  • ya i think it is. its really fast, and it definitely looks better than this, the touch and key pads are both fantastic

  • got mine a week ago. the touchpad isn't nearly as horrible as some reviews claim it is. while i do agree that it's a little too smooth, you'll get used to it. I bought the most exp config, the 1015tx, and it's well worth every penny.

    @darwinners: unfortunately there isn't a 15" model. the dm3 is marketed as a "thin-and-light", so yeah.

@silverboots: in my opinion, the dm3 is more than appropriate for a student, it's IDEAL. :D and i say so cause i'm a student myself lol

  • Just picked one of these up from Walmart for $498. It's a great looking machine, feels solid and is well designed. Great performance, acceptable weight vs. speed trade-off. Beautiful display. The touchpad is shiny but has plenty of traction. HDMI port is a fantastic nice-to-have feature. Best laptop I've had in a very long time, after owning MacBook, ThinkPads, Dells, Toshibas, and the rest. This is the best price point / performance laptop I've ever owned.

  • @1250pilot hii which country did u get it in?? its listed in canada for 699...thank you

  • why would they put the mouse with a mirror surface? kinda ruined it imo

  • i know i don't want to look at myself in the mirror....im ugly lmao...they did mess it up with that touchpad and it looks kinda cheap and plasticky.....its fast but a more attractive laptop is hp mini 311

  • This with Intel Core 2 Duo Processor and 2.26GHz, for 844.99, is perfect for me. Thats the strongest config for a computer this size, which appeals to me the most, as well as the design which is great.

  • just got it and it a well balanced computer...looks, quality, specs....here are some cons: it can be a little smaller (like 12" wide), it can weight a little less, The Neo dual core can get hot like the old macbook pro depending what you do. I got it for $528 at walmart so it's worth the price for what you're getting. It's powerful enough to do everything including light gaming.

  • anyone who knows stuff about computers (not me) could tell if this would be a good student computer?

  • dude of course this is a gaming machine which is very fast compared to other computers.its a must buy!

  • what model is this one? how similar is it to the dm3-1035dx found at best buy for 549.99?

  • Is there a 15" available for this series?

  • no for that you have to buy the envy series which are quite expensive.

  • i finally saw it in person and it looks like a poor man's macbook

  • lmao it looks pretty cheap

  • HP is making better quality laptop but without the macbook price tag....macbook are quality laptop but the price are too high and u pay even more for apple high price accessories.

  • Great Review. All the other videos about this laptop pretty much sucked. Thanks!

  • A lot of companies are starting to lean towards the Apple design.. HP especially. That's what I love about them. They offer products that can offer the same "simple" look, but with the compatibility that Windows offers. I've always had HP laptops.

  • looks like a macbook pro kinda

  • I want to buy one of this, it has cam?

  • Aw... I wanted to win some tournaments with this laptop!! :(

  • Is 1.6 Ghz ( This Laptop ) Good for gamimg on low settings?

  • Yes for the ones with discrete graphics, ie, ATI HD3200 and 4330 or Nvidia G105M (I think)

  • for 579 u.s. who gives a shit about the track pad. go spend double to get a little better apple track pad. not worth it

  • Or more accurately ...might..stink as I haven't seen this yet. If it is the typical chrome, cold, greasy hp touch pad well...ya know.

  • Might want to mention the touch pad which stinks

  • I bought it 2 days ago for 680euro. DVD+R/RW double layer comes in the box. Its 4GB DDR3 ram 320 GB 7200rpm disc. It runss about 6h on low settings

  • I don't like the fact that there's no cd drive....

  • Then get a thin and light with a cd drive, they exist, they just don't look as good for the money. Or you could put one in your laptop case for the 3% of the time you actually need one, though I realize spending those extra few seconds it would take to connect it would be a strain to some (cripples). I understand, go spend 1.2k on the 13" mbp.

  • You cant compare this to a MACBOOK PRO more like an AIR

  • I agree.. no matter how many PC users down my mine or your comment this computer does'nt compare in looks nor features.

  • Unfortunately there's only the expensive Intel version in my area.

  • This is sweet. Im planning to buy this in best buy.

and i think the price is affordable for it's specs?

can't go wrong with 4gbRam with 320gb harddrive.

Most of the specs like that are like atleast 900-1000 above.

So i guess this price is just right.

Good enough to get my work done.

  • I configured a dm3 at HP's site to the same specs as one you would buy from a store and it came out to over 700 dollars so this is a pretty good deal for a laptop. You get 4gb of ram, 320gb 7200 RPM not 5400 RPM, blue tooth, dual core, great looks and LED screen and longer battery life for 600 us dollars. Only thing missing is the optical drive but that keeps the helps increase battery life and I find myself rarely using a drive. I'll be getting it this December hopefully.

  • maybe it is,but it doesn't copy's apple price wich is just a great thing
