Your reply is of immense comfort. In doing what research I could, Bullionvault seemed a very good way to start acquiring physical gold and silver. I've now started to add coins etc from Ebay or wherever, although I'm not well read enough to know what is best to buy. I also thought it would be a good idea to amass coins in circulation from the bank as they must have an intrinsic value for their metal content. However I'm not sure what the content is yet for Stg 5p, 10p, 20p, 50p and £1 coins.

Also what I have yet to work out, if/when everything goes ballistic how do I use my physical. I can't cash it in for worthless currency. I'm guessing if dollar goes down other fiat currencies (£ being my concern) will follow or is that not necessarily the case. I assume the coming depression will not just be stateside?

@jmcadg My understanding is that Bullionvault and GoldMoney are sound and respected, you should be fine there, so good choice. Beyond that, I wish I had all of the answers, but I don't. Look at it this way though, you are on a ship in a sea of sinking ships. Your ship is sinking too, and there are very, very few life boats. In fact 99.5% of the people can't even find their way to a lifeboat. But you did. You are one of the precious few (.05%) who own physical precious metal.

@throwerofturds I agree......I have found 50lb bags of Montana Red Winter Wheat for $26, and 25lb bags of quick oats for $17, rice, flour, etc. I use mylar bags and oxygen absorbers and 5 gal buckets to extend the shelf life. I am trying to store a good selection of all items, especially as we know with certainty that inflation is going to hit us like a freight train with all of this stupid Q. Easing from the illegal Fed. At least our silver has a long shelf life, right SGT?

somewhere a person should be able to buy wheat and others by the bushel . then its even cheaper . if you had whole oats and a roller , then they would last forever .

im thinking of getting a few five gallon buckets of honey , also going out with a bee keeper next summer and maybe learning the trade . right now a bucket of honey is 120 dollars and it probabaly weighs in at maybe 55 or 60 pounds .

The 10/share IPO was to raise $500 million needed to buy the allocated silver bullion... I answered a question last Saturday in which I stated I didn't think Sprott had acquired the actual physical silver yet, so it was not reflected in the silver spot price. Also, I'm not sure what each "share" will reflect in bullion holdings; 1/3 ounce? Any one w/ better info please weigh in!
