  • I really want to take lessons with this guy. In fact, I will as soon as i find a way to contact him.

  • OMG.. this guy is legit...

  • Great style

  • Buddy Rich never tuned his drums ... he tightened his drums.

  • lol!

    tightened his drums untill what?

untill the sound from the drum was satisfying of corse.

Even I tune my drums and I am an amateur. sometimes I go for the tempered system tones such as A (440hz) or C or D or something depending of the drum. And sometimes I go for matching skin with timber. This is my preference because of the dissonance from perfectly tuned drums that slides down a few hertz.

  • The Toms are tuned how they are purposely, They sound absolutely amazing by the way, They are tuned for Jazz and Latin, In other words, They are tuned for music.

  • Dafnis is the man. that is all.

  • Haha. Well, A, I'm going to laugh at the stupid people who are fighting over YouTube, and B, I will say, I'm not a fan of the sound of his toms. My personal preference is the resonant side tuned up high and the batter tuned down low, so the sound carried, but has that gut punch when the sound wave hits the crowd.

  • @Drumlord009 I like that sound to, but he is going for a different sound, jazz drums aren't suppose to pound loud and deep. It doesn't hold up to the history of the instrument and latin jazz music.

  • @Drumlord009

This is exactly the opposite approach to what Stewart Copeland did when he'd witnessed all the arena and festival drummers with their low tuned drums losing definition in the mix. He inspired generations of drummers to cut through amplified music by tuning the batter side tighter.

  • Why don't you nerds guys play some music and stop talking about the "toms tuning" and the color of the t shirt he is using...i know is dificult for you dudes, but leave the computer for a while and try to.

  • @Gandalfstyle Thankyou i just said they sound like shit and everyone FUCKING JIZZED IN THERe PANTS AND STARTED A HUGE FIGHT

  • his toms sound like shit

  • they're set up for jazz and latin

  • @pdrums777 Well then jazz and latin sound like shit I like more of a boom sound not a bong but wever works for his style

  • ye its not for everyone, .. antonio sanchez souds the same, think the tune morew to a note to get melody perhaps

  • Judging from your favorites, your probably used to thuddy rock style toms. This cat can tune his drums to sound like percussion, not even Mike Portnoy can do that. :]

  • @yourname50 Yah i no what your saying but none of these guys tune there own drums they all have drum techs

  • this is the second video i've noticed you comment that same thing. if you're under the impression that lower is better, you're wrong.

  • NOT TO MAKE YOU LOOK LIKE A NARROW MINDED FUCK BUT...... No one is wrong about there opinions on drum tunings and styles I like to have a low end sound because it suites me and my style you may like a higher sound because your into latin and jazz. I'll respect your style but you don't have to respect mine unless you will be more OPEN minded. No one is wrong on tuning if a low sound was wrong then no one would have done it. But obviously they have look at the other drummers in MDF 08

  • porque no toca el bloque o cencerro haciendo clave con su pierna izquierda?, simple curiosidad

  • @erikimba NOT TO MAKE YOU LOOK LIKE A NARROW MINDED FUCK BUT...... • @erikimba srry comented on your bye axident

  • ok tiger, slow down there. don't too excited there in your mom's basement ok? read the comment i just said you're wrong if you think they're just bad. my toms happen to be tuned relatively low. so stop thinking you know what you're talking about. im not talking bad about you in any way, so just calm down, it's really not that serious. i never said higher is better, i just said lower isn't. so stop assuming things dude, and chill out

  • You can't say anything negative about his playing, its true, him, and awesome!
